Positive: The unit was comfortable with a good-sized lounge / kitchen space. The main bedroom was spacious, and the bathroom and kitchen were both well-appointed. The dinner was delicious with relaxed, friendly staff, although it was expensive.

Negative: It is expensive, and the second bedroom with two single beds was cramped for two adults - probably intended for two children.

Summary: Comfortable base for a night's rest enroute around the East Cape.

Positive: Check in and out were simple. The washer/dryer were great. The bed was comfortable. The view of the bay was fabulous.

Negative: The whole building locked down before 9:30 p.m. No one could get in, even guests. The bathroom was very cramped, but that is largely because the washer/dryer were in there. A fair trade-off. There was no electrical outlet next to the right side of the bed. Management let a truck park in front of the only sidewalk access from the parking lot. The reception and the bartender seemed particularly grumpy and impatient. The dining room staff seemed rather oblivious to the guests needs like water and checking to see that everything was ok.

Summary: An acceptable stop on the way to somewhere else.

Positive: The property was fantastic. Especially for a family. Our room had a washing machine and dryer in it. The kids loved the spa pool, and the food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Well worth the stopover!!!

Positive: Beautiful location, giving amazing views of the sea, to Whakaari, and the East Coast (SH35) coastline. Friendly staff, and a well-stocked cafe with general grocery items and barista coffee. Restaurant on-site, maybe book in advance to give them notice :-) There is an EV charger there, I forget which connection it has, but you can enquire at time of booking. Nice clean, roomy rooms - ours had a balcony which is lovely on a summer evening!
