Positive: As we were a group of two couples, we were allocated rooms 1&2 which is a family suite and larger than standard rooms. The decor, bed and amenities were superb. Location of rooms was furthest from restaurant which was good as it was peaceful. Due to heavy rains, not as many animals were at the waterhole, but still saw plenty water buck, impala, a crocodile or two!Food was outstanding. Game drives were unsurpassed and ranger Rose was a delight.

Negative: Nothing. Unfortunately due to exceptionally high rain fall, many roads within park were inaccessible. However, we had fab viewings of lions, elephant and rhino which were the highlight.

Summary: A fabulous experience which I would love to repeat

Positive: My daughter and I spent 3 days here - and absolutely loved it. Such a prime location near the waterhole means that you can see animals all day. Great food. Comfortable lodges

Positive: Fantastic location next to a waterhole, which attracts lots of animals. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Delicious food and clean accommodation! Great animal sighting. It wasn't our first stay and definitely not our last... Tau always delivers!

Positive: All of the meals were excellent. The dining areas are scenic and exotic. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The game drives were excellent and our driver was very knowledgeable.

Positive: After hours and hours of research we chose this place because it overlooks a massive waterhole, is authentically African, employees people from the local communities and is not over-priced compared to other places we looked at … yet still felt luxurious. The food was outstanding, very flexible with loads of choice and turned out to be very teenage friendly. I would also highly recommend the spa, great therapists, ended up booking three treatments! The part however that really stood out for us is the people employed here … such warm, happy and friendly people. Our game ranger Herman was excellent, super knowledgeable and made the game drives so captivating for our family. We will miss our early morning Amarula and sunset drinks in the bush with Herman!

Negative: Loved the Africology products in the spa - would be great if we could have purchased the products at the spa.

Summary: Truly magical place, spent 4 days living in wonderful bubble of happiness!

Positive: Beautiful location in the middle of the Madikwe reserve. Room was spacious and clean, even a mosquito net around a large and comfy bed (with staff that turns on electric blanket and air con to warm up the room). We came during winter so not many insects, but the net was anyway nice to have. Nice sweet honey moon surprise… Beautiful balcony in the room facing the water pool for a constant safari and monkeys visits! This is in addition to the communal area. Lots of animals stop by to drink water or refresh, so all was amazing! Two daily game rides organised with the ranger (Israel was ours and he tried to accommodate all our “requests” to see specific animals, when possible). We saw lots of animals, including lions, lionesses, hippos, giraffes, hyenas, elephants, cheetahs, cubs, buffalo’s, zebra, antilope etc (just leopard we missed as it’s rare to spot them in this reserve). Wear warm clothes and Willy hats and gloves are recommended!! Good buffet options (also for gluten free). Sweet breakfast was not the best, so we went for the savoury breakfast (English style eggs and bacon etc) and it was very good! Yogurt, fresh juice and smoothly also were very good! Two swimming pools to relax during the day. Spa available on site for relaxing moments.

Negative: Sweet breakfast was not the best, lots of options but food was a bit cold. All area is very well lit, so no much options for star gazing…we were hoping for less light pollution but the best spot is the helipad.
