Positive: If you like antique style this place is for you This is one of the most oldest hotels in Norway The manager is verynice and friendly.gave us tips about places to go around.

Negative: The restaurant in the hotel was closed.so we had to eat at Kafé Marifjøra with the same management The is no elevator in the hotel.so you should get your bags 3 floors upstairs. There is no tv in the room Only 1 pillow The breakfast is very small.there is no scrambled eggs.

Positive: Breakfast is simple. There is no lift in this historic hotel. We need to move our luggage to the room and this made the stay unsatisfied. Hotel is 300 years old and value items around the lounge and sitting area. Room is small but the view is great.

Positive: Norway’s oldest hotel is charming and a nice place to stay. The food was good. The rooms were comfortable.

Negative: The WiFi only works in the lobby. Some better room darkening curtains would be nice. Also prepare to be in a very isolated area. Otherwise it’s great

Positive: Tørvis Hotel sits in a really beautiful location, right next to the fjord. The location is peaceful and oozes Norwegian charm. The hotel itself is old, you can clearly see that, but mostly kept well. Whilst the decor may not be to everyone's taste (taxidermy, oil paintings, and lace curtains), it feels completely appropriate for the location and history of the hotel, and very quaint. The bedroom was clean, compact, but had a comfortable bed and pillows. The communal spaces were the shining star of our stay - the breakfast room (where we also had dinner as there weren't too many guests) is so relaxing to be in, with the ambient music, and pared-back old-school style (including one rather uncomfortable chair whose springs must have started to poke through!). The food was delicious, and family recipes handed down from the owner's grandmother to his mother, we were told! The living room was just as superb, with comfortable sofas and plenty of chairs aiming towards a large fireplace on one wall. We were sad to have only stayed one night as it would be a great place to stay for a long weekend, to unwind with a book, and go on walks to explore the beautiful surroundings.

Negative: The hotel isn't everyone's taste - it could appear a little outdated in terms of decor (green carpets, lace curtains, taxidermy on the walls etc.) but it all does feel appropriate for it's history.
