Voted coolest camper van on Maui by our renters!
Dee-Zel Washington is a super cool 1992 Mitsubishi Delica JDM Camper Van that I imported from Japan. He sleeps two super comfortably. I also have a two person tent and air mattress for rent. Deezel has four seats. He has a Turbo Diesel engine and is right hand drive, don’t worry Dee-zel is super easy to drive and has a automatic transmission.
Deezel has all the comforts of home and comes complete with everything you need to
Camp comfortably.
Bring nothing but your clothes as Dee-Zel has everything you need to have a great trip.

Dee-zel is a 92 Mitsubishi Delica 4WD Japanese import camper van. Dee-zel has a turbo Diesel engine and is right hand drive but is very easy to drive takes a few minutes to be comfortable driving him. There is only one place on island where he is not allowed to go and that is Haleakala hwy from the bottom to the top of the mountain, His motor is too small and not powerful enough to go up Haleakala. I will know if you try and you are responsible for any and all damages done to Dee-zel. If you drive the road to Hana including the back side (I don’t recommend that you drive the backside) you are on your own and again responsible for any and all damages. I can not come to help you if you break down in Hana or the backside. No cell service there. Please drive him with care and respect treat him better than your own vehicle please. He’s vintage and in immaculate condition and I would like it to stay that way for myself and others to enjoy.
He has everything you need to camp. Comes with sheets, towels, Beach chairs, coffee press, pillows, blanket, plates, utensils, 4 gallon roof shower, awning, refrigerator (no ice needed), pots, pans, Coleman stove which doubles as a grill, with one can of fuel others available for a nominal fee, 10 gallons of water for dishes etc (not for drinking), portable sink, dish soap, hand soap, 1 roll paper towels, camping table, machete, hatchet, apple, android carplay stereo and more.

Airport pickup and drop off is no longer available as it is illegal for us to do that anymore. We are a 10-15 minute Uber ride from the airport.

Summary: We highly recommend Deezel. We stayed five nights and would have loved to stay longer. We found we had everything we needed. David, our host, was super helpful during our stay, very likable and communicative and had some great recommendations. Deezel has so many cool features and is well stocked. I liked that you can keep your phones charged and how well the mini fridge works. Deezel drives comfortably (once you get used to driving on the right) and gets good gas mileage. Pick up and drop off is smooth and close to the airport so you have more time to kick back, relax, have fun and avoid the crowds at the rental places and resorts. Deezel is a much more affordable way to experience the true spirit and beauty of Maui. Thankyou David for sharing Deezel with us.

Summary: My partner and I had so much fun going around the island with DeeZel!! Check in was extremely easy, and David was not only extremely helpful and communicative but also very accommodating and generous! We got a lot of compliments and requests for pictures as we trekked around Maui. 😊 Make sure you visit Haleakalā in a DIFFERENT car before or after you use DeeZel - it would definitely not make it up the mountain, as we already struggled a bit on some of the inclines on the Road to Hana (but going back towards Paia was easier and one of our favorite drives). My two minor issues were 1) the sheets were not entirely clean and 2) the AC does not get cold AT ALL, so it can be a bit rough during hot weather (even with the windows rolled down). However, the fan helped a bit with that and can be left on during the night. Overall, this was definitely a very cool and unique experience and I’m glad we did it. Thanks David!!

Summary: Hands down the coolest way to see Maui. David is an amazing host, will help and answer quickly. He is super easy going and knowledgeable about the island. Dee-zel is super cute and easy to drive. Dee-zel has everything you will need for your trip and more. We found the stay comfy and easy. Just be prepared to be stopped multiple times a day for compliments on the van!

Summary: My boyfriend and I had Dee-zel for 5 nights and absolutely fell in love with this van. It had everything we could need and more for this adventurous vacation. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our week in Maui. The host David was super knowledgeable and provided excellent communication and advice for this trip, and gave us overall a better experience than we could’ve ever imagined. You can’t come to Maui and camp without Dee-zel!
