Sunset Cottage is cozy, warm, and full of charm — the perfect place to soak in crisp autumn air and golden lake views. Whether you’re sipping coffee by the electric fireplace or gathering around the outdoor fire pit under the stars, this 1940s quaint lakefront gem offers a peaceful fall retreat for couples, families, or friends.
Direct access to Lake Wallenpaupack is right in your front yard (from your front door till your toes get wet is under 200’), with sweeping views from the spacious dining table inside. In autumn, the sunsets here are nothing short of breathtaking, often framed by fiery foliage reflecting off the water.
You’ll have private lake access with your own dock, perfect for fall fishing, paddling, or simply sitting with a blanket and taking in the scenery. A brand-new dock (2024) is shown in the photos.

• Swimming (if you’re brave enough for the cool water!)
Please note: Jet ski slips are not available for renters. Power boats are welcome — bring your own and tie off to the dock.

Lake access may be challenging for guests with mobility concerns. The upper yard is flat and easy to navigate, but the path to the dock involves an incline with wooden/stone steps and boulders (depending on water levels). In high water, the walkway to the dock may be submerged — please use caution.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay! The house is exactly as described, despite the small size, it has everything you need for a great enjoyable trip. The host is very responsive! The dock was great as we brought our own wave runners! The kids also enjoyed the kayaks. We would recommend this house. I just would bring an air pump as that is the only thing the house does not have.

Summary: The first night we got there.I went to the lake lost my footing on the rocks and ended up in the lake dislocating.Tootoes injuring my knee and getting cut up on the rocks. And the next or Sunday night I got into bed and was promptly bitten by.I'm not sure what. I got cellulitis in the pand and now on high powered antibiotics. All of this made me very grateful for the view from the dining room as i was not able to walk easily and surely not painfree. It taken me this long to communicate, as i was doing my best to deal with my anger. Having spent so much money on 4 nights and after such injuries i didnt even want to be there. I am not clear on your policies for such events. A refund of some sort would be in order. Medical paperwork is available.

Summary: My family and I had a great time on our vacation. It was our first time renting a cabin and the location to the lake was great. The view from the dining room window was amazing and one of my favorite things. We were also able to use a paddle boat for the first time which came with the rental. I can’t wait to go to the lake again next year highly recommended.
