Positive: We LOVED the location and our hostess; it was quiet; down rural quaint village roads, and the greenery and flora around both our room and the hotel, along with the stone walls, and cute waterways, was magnificent. Best room surrounds ever. Our balcony and huge window looked over magnificent greenery and pastoral scenes. We loved being able to open the balcony doors. Our hostess was beyond lovely, and accommodating. She asked us in advance what we wanted for our breakfast and dinner, via WhatsApp, and, when I stated the mattress was too hard for me, she provided an extra comforter for me to place on top of the mattress, which did the trick. We enjoyed the balcony and seating areas, and our meals by the pool. She provided us with great bottles of wine for both our evening meals, which was priceless. It was our first "fine dining" outside of Hanoi, and we were very grateful to her and her husband, the chef! Our evening meals were so delicious. We loved the salmon and the soup greens - we saw the chef eating this meal and requested the same, and he kindly accommodated. We also liked the overhead bed lighting; however, we would have liked lamps on our bedside tables even more. We appreciated also the prompt laundry service.

Negative: Mostly, we would have liked to have had hot coffee first thing in the morning, for breakfast, and it was the last thing to arrive. And the toast was not toasted. But we know the Brits strangely like their toast cold; however, we are not Brits, hah. We had some difficulty getting enough hot water to fill the tub, but made do; we still enjoyed our tub bath. Room service was not done, other than to provide clean towels.

Summary: Beautiful serene surrounds; I would stay here again and for a longer time!

Positive: We loved our stay at Sundara Retreat! The location is super peaceful, perfect for relaxing and slowing down. The accommodation was really clean and comfortable, exactly what you want on a getaway. And the food… wow. Every meal was incredible, honestly some of the best we’ve had on our whole trip. The owners are amazing too, super kind, welcoming, and they really make the place feel special. Highly recommend this one!!

Positive: Lovely owner and staff. Possibly a bit expensive for what it offers. Breakfast was very disappointing. Could have just been because there was hardly anyone staying but expected more for the price. Beautiful area it is situated in though.

Positive: Place is set off from the street in a lovely rural setting under the mountains. Rooms are big, clean and the building looked Austrian inspired, lots of wood and the best place to stay in. The house vege soup from the garden was awesome, strong chicken broth with vnm spinach (maybe) Super friendly staff/ managers The grazing buffalo at the soccer ground up the path was cool too
