Positive: A wonderful small island club hotel with very polite and customer-oriented staff. From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were surrounded by care and excellent service. The hotel even has its own lounge at the local airport with a buffet and a voucher for a 10-minute massage – exactly what we needed after the flight. At the hotel, we were warmly welcomed by our curator Aminath, who was always polite, quick to respond, and very helpful with any request. The restaurant is cozy, with excellent cuisine. Chef Chamimda is a highly skilled professional, a generous and kind person, and simply an outstanding cook. He creates simple yet creative and delicious dishes – mainly fish, chicken, and vegetables. The staff make the atmosphere warm, heartfelt, and truly relaxing. We stayed in water villa 406 – spacious, with modern new furniture, and offering a stunning view of the ocean. What impressed us most was the dedication and warmth of the staff. During our stay, we even met loyal guests who have been returning to this hotel for the 13th and even the 40th time – and we can absolutely see why.

Negative: On one side of the island (the reef side) there is an industrial island, which is not exactly the view you usually expect to see in the Maldives. In addition, there is construction taking place on the island – it is hardly noticeable, except for one construction site on the opposite side. Unfortunately, the construction is happening on the spot of a beautiful sandbank that initially caught our attention and is often featured in the hotel’s marketing pictures. The works are right next to the reef, and while snorkeling there we occasionally came across pieces of wire and other construction-related debris. Most likely, once the construction is finished, the island will become even more comfortable and pleasant.

Summary: Despite some minor disappointments, we truly fell in love with this island.

Positive: The vacation exceeded all our expectations! The water is beautiful, warm, and crystal clear – perfect for swimming. The hotel has its own reef, so you can enjoy snorkeling right by the villa: the colorful fish are incredible, and sometimes you can even spot a turtle. The rooms are very comfortable, cleaned twice a day – thank you, Shayan, for keeping everything spotless. Special thanks to the waiters Vijay, Dilshan, and Shayan – always attentive, friendly, and smiling. Chef Nittin impresses with the variety and taste of the dishes – the cuisine is truly top level. The hotel creates a feeling of complete relaxation and genuine care.

Positive: The resort can be reached by a scenic seaplane ride, and between your international and seaplane flight, you can eat and relax in the Sun Siyam Lounge. Once we arrived at the island, we were greeted by our nice host, Niyaaf, who showed us the resort's main facilities and escorted us to our room. We booked a beach villa with a pool. The villa and its surroundings are spacious, and we really liked the white-painted style with colorful orange and pink decorations. The pool is huge, and the outdoor bath is always the highlight of Maldives rooms. Our room attendant, Sahib, was the nicest and most friendly person, who took very good care of us. He made sure that our room was always clean and prepared beautiful bed decorations for us, which we loved. Our villa faced the lagoon, it was so nice to relax in the comfortable swing and enjoy the most beautiful blues you can imagine. What made Sun Siyam Vilu Reef exceptional was the people who work there. All the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and welcoming, and they work so hard to fulfill all the guests’s requests and please us. We booked the accommodation with half board, so we were able to try for lunch the snack menu of the pool bar, the Italian-style Spice restaurant and also In-villa dining. All was delicious, as well as the themed buffet dinners in the main Aqua restaurant. . For us the highlight of this Resort, other than the hard working and most humble staff was the house reef, which was so super accessible, even for beginners and kids. It was very safe and easy to get to the reef edge and explore the marine life. During the day there was even a security guard there who was there if something went wrong. We were lucky to see all kinds of colorful fish, reef sharks, and also a turtle a few times. We also tried the Spa and had a very relaxing family massage and had an amazing excursion with the watersports team to a sandbank and a farm island. Thank you for making our holiday unforgettable.
