Positive: Lesley and his wife took wonderful care of us. They were attentive even before our arrival, picked us up in the city, and were incredibly kind. The place is amazing—full of peace, surrounded by green gardens, silence, and small temples you can visit by walking around. Overall, it was one of the best stays we’ve had in Sri Lanka.

Positive: Summerfield is an absolutely delightful and charming homestay overlooking a paddy field! It was sheer joy to wake up early in the morning, open my patio door to a verandah and look at all this amazing expanse of enchanting, verdant paddy field. I stayed for four nights. Had breakfast and several lunches, for which I paid separately. All Sri Lankan food. It’s rural scenic experience. I didn’t take the excursion, because we were not sure that all the roads on the excursion were cleared after the cyclone. Hosts were really super nice. The house is about a kilometre from the main road. I would advise anyone coming to ring the host before hand to get directions and arrive during daylight. I would wholeheartedly recommend this charming rural experience. The bedrooms was tastefully decorated was well. Their son is a designer.

Negative: Absolutely nothing

Summary: For me it was the most delightful location and homestay in Sri Lanka. It was a charming experience.

Positive: It was a great experience. Very calm and neat environment. Mr Lesley was very kind to us. We enjoyed the stay. He also took us to Sembuwatte Lake and to the waterfall.

Positive: The hosts are friendly and helpful. The guest house is quiet and tranquil with a beautiful garden setting. I will definitely return to take some of the tours to waterfalls offered by the host.

Positive: If you are planning on visiting Kandy and you love nature, do yourself a favour and stay at Summerfield. 20 minutes outside the main city nestled amongst beautiful trees and fields Summerfield is a hidden gem! Lesley and Sriyanthi were the best hosts and we felt truly at home. They went above and beyond to help us in anyway we needed. Lesley took us for a daytrip to visit lots of waterfalls. This was the highlight of our entire trip in Sri Lanka, we visited places we wouldn’t have found otherwise. We were the only tourists, and people around! Lesley is amazing company, we had a lovely day together. If you would like to go into the main city it is easy to get there in a tuk tuk. The room was very big and comfortable. The bathroom was also great and clean with a warm shower. We were able to do our own laundry here. I highly recommend you stay here! :)
