5 Bedroom Villa in Castilenti, Elice

Casa Toti was completed in October 2011. It is a new build but built in the Abruzzeze style in old Maiella stone. Inside and out are beautiful arches and stunning use of stone. The ground floor has vaulted ceilings and the entire house has terracotta tiles with marble detailing. Beneath the traditional features is a totally up to date house with underfloor heating, central cooling system, photovoltaic energy panels and every mod con! A large hall leads into the kitchen/dining room and then into the sitting room. Both have French windows onto the shaded veranda with a large table for outside dining and a comfortable sofa and armchairs from which to soak up the view.
There is 1 bedroom downstairs, with French doors onto the veranda, with an en suite shower room suitable for the elderly or guests with mobility problems.
There are 3BR on the 1st floor, 1 with a balcony, and the 5th bedroom is in the tower, also with its own balcony. All bedrooms have en suite shower rooms and lovely view.
Outside areas: The swimming pool (open May to end of October) has Roman steps and is 14m x 6m with a diving board. It has stunning views to the mountains and is surrounded by a terrace area with plenty of loungers. The veranda has everything for summer, outdoor living and has steps down leading to the pool area. Bedroom 1 leads out onto the veranda and bedrooms 2 and 5 have balconies with table and chairs facing the mountains. The house is set in an olive grove of approximately 120 old olive trees.

Summary: Casa Toti is even better than the description and photos show. Perfectly situated in a quiet garden with olive trees and a lovely pool. All set against a view that can’t be described. We had a mild breeze the whole time, keeping the temperature enjoyable. Comfortable rooms, great patio and well equipped kitchen.

Summary: We had a fabulous week at Casa Toti - winding down and taking in the beautiful scenery. Breakfast on the verandah was so stunning with such a backdrop. The property is amazing and very well equipped, but the pool is perfect! Lots to do in the area - if you want to do a lot more that lie by the pool, that is! Thanks to Jane who was always quick to respond to any queries.

Summary: Given the photos of the property, I had high expectations. They were all exceeded! Most beautiful views you will ever see. Great pool. Well stocked and comfortable house. Extremely private and secluded. And even a great restaurant at the end of the road that you can walk to!

Summary: Casa Toti is the perfect place for a family vacation. Located away from the crowded tourist attractions, it is the perfect spot to experience the beauty, tranquility and friendly people of Abruzzi. It is also a beautiful place to just stay put and relax by the pool. Accommodations were spacious, comfortable and clean. Everywhere you turned was another breathtaking view. We were a large group with ages ranging from 3 to 83 years of age. Everyone was pleased with the accommodations and amenities. There were absolutely no complaints during our entire 5-week stay. The property is well maintained by Luigi and Gabriella. We looked forward to friendly conversations with Luigi each day in Italian and English with the help of google. Plenty of helpful local information was provided in a Welcome Book by Jane who was always available and responsive to our questions and need for assistance. The surrounding Abruzzo area is beautiful, with mountains ,beaches and the villages of Penne, Elice, Castiliente and Citta Sant Angelo close by. The restaurant at the bottom of the hill is a big plus and the food is excellent. We totally enjoyed the Abruzzi experience and highly recommend Casa Toti without hesitation. You do need to rent or hire a car at this location.
