Casa de Olas is an oceanfront penthouse villa in Las Palmas Luxury Villas on the 9 mile beach, Playa Blanca, prized for its serenity. This is a dream vacation home for families or groups of couples or friends. Las Palmas is an architectural work of art, designed by renowned architect, Enrique Zozaya, in a style that celebrates the natural environment and local Mexican artisans.
The villa is located less than ten minutes from the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo international airport and twenty minutes from the town of Zihuatanejo. Las Palmas is a gated community with 24 hour security. Casa de Olas was built in 2014 and has nearly 4,000 square feet of living space. There are 4 bedrooms including a large rooftop terrace with an infinity plunge pool as well as two larger swimming pools on the grounds. Two of the bedrooms are ocean facing with king-size beds, one is an ocean view bedroom with a king-size bed and the last is a mountain view bedroom with two queen-size beds. All bedrooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Three of the bedrooms have private ocean facing terraces. The bathrooms adjoining the bedrooms are open air and feature Zozaya's signature outdoor showers. The house comfortably sleeps 8 but 2 children under 10 can share the two queen beds for a maximum occupancy of 10. The main level boasts a large well-appointed open-air living room and gourmet kitchen looking out to the ocean, under a lovely palapa roof with an over-sized dining table, hammock and plenty of sofa space. There is also an outdoor grill on the rooftop terrace with plunge pool - wonderful for morning coffee, lazy afternoons and star-gazing.
There is a beachfront restaurant and bar that serves delicious drinks and authentic Mexican food. Room service is also available. Private chef and/or grocery service is available upon request. The local restaurants in Zihuatanejo are excellent. At the southern end of Playa Blanca, about four miles away, you will find Barra de Potosí, a small fishing village that offers some of the best open-air, seafood enramadas. There is a beautiful lagoon there with miles of mangrove trees and bird life for you to enjoy by kayak available for rent or by guided tour in a small motorboat. Surfing spots are nearby in Zihuatanejo, Playa Linda, Troncones and La Saladita, to name a few. Behind the villas, there are natural pastures, tropical groves and fresh-water estuaries with the majestic mountains of the Sierra Madre in the background. Casa de Olas is the ideal place to reconnect with nature, experience colorful local culture and indulge in blissful relaxation.
Weekly rentals include a free mid-week cleaning. Rates are based on occupancy of 8 people. An additional per person charge applies in order to accommodate up to 10. Lower minimum rental rates are available for guest counts of 4 or fewer guests or for longer-term stays.

Summary: The house is an absolute dream. I've stayed in dozens of beach houses over the years and this was, hands down, the loveliest. Everyone in my party agreed. The view from nearly every window was stunning, the maintenance folks and the people in the restaurant were charming, the pool is exceptional (and I'm a serious swimmer) and the beach was pristine and epic! Though the riptide discouraged us from swimming, it was a spectator sport just watching the waves. Thank you, Kristin, for your hospitality and for creating such a fabulous place to relax and enjoy the sunrise, the sunset, and the crashing of the waves!

Summary: We had a wonderful time at Casa de Olas. The property was exactly what we needed for our family holiday. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms were roomy and with comfortable beds. The main living area was a superb place to congregate after meals and after a day at the beach. We truly enjoyed our time there. The concierge, Francisco was extremely helpful in helping us organize outings. We had chef Angela and her sous chef (daughter) Marisol cook for us three spectacular dinners. We ate at the restaurant / bar a few times and the food was good. Ray at the bar was wonderful to deal with and very attentive. We were even able to get some groceries brought in prior to our arrival which really made our arrival much less stressful. I would say if there is one teeny tiny downside to the location of this condo / villa is that it is a trek (taxi ride) away from Zihua and easy access to groceries. All in all, a fantastic place to stay!

Summary: The crashing waves are overwhelming, but in the best of ways. The open air layout is perfect for the Zihuatanejo climate. This huge unit had 8 of us spread our comfortably all day. The rooftop patio is like a private escape with nothing but beach and islands to see. The ideal location of this unit on this already ideally located property makes you feel as if you are on your own. Both property manager and property owner as very accessible and attentive. They helped us line up kayaking, surf lessons, airport transportation and even a cook.

Summary: Casa de Olas was absolutely amazing! We loved staying here with our family. The service was incredible, the house was very clean and comfortable. Paola the housekeeper was excellent as well. Omar and Kristin were very responsive in every aspect and were helpful with every question. We will definitely be coming back in the near future! Highly recommend staying here
