Positive: It was cosy, and felt like a warm hug. Its location was absolutely perfect and very quiet at night too.

Negative: This is just a personal thing, but the bed in the master bedroom was far too firm for us. It did have a topper on it, but the mattress itself was very firm. We kept waking up, not able to get comfortable, and suffered with a sore back each morning and slept on pillows and a spare duvet to try and make it comfortable (feeling like the princess and the pea!). I don’t think the other beds were as firm but they were occupied. It’s hard to get beds right as people have different preferences. My mother and father like a firm mattress, but we don’t. That would be my only ‘negative’ comment to make, but it is a personal and subjective one.

Summary: My children have asked if we can return to the same cottage and we’ve never had that before! It had everything we could

Positive: Charming cottage with brilliant wood burning stove and comfortable furnishings.

Negative: The ceilings and doorways were very low. Anyone over 5’10 would have to duck down here and there. Two of our party are 6’ and over which resulted in much anguish and banged heads. My 74 year old dad hit his head on a glass ceiling light that shattered everywhere.

Positive: We really enjoyed our stay! It was lovely to receive a warm welcome and the Christmas card and chocolates were a lovely touch. It was great as well to have access to the local Spa hotel, we really enjoyed the facilities. The cottage itself was very cosy and we enjoyed the local scenery a lot.

Negative: We had some problems with the key box getting in at times but our hosts were very helpful in dealing with this.

Summary: A really lovely stay in a beautiful place, very helpful hosts, thank you.

Positive: Very nice place. Self catering but had everything you needed and comfortable with log fire n all. Was self catering and although the entrance close to the main country road you could easily walk from there to some stunning scenery. Recommended and hosts very nice although we only spoke on the phone.

Negative: We thought the pool and other facilitieswould be closer but maybe a mile or 2 drive so still worked out fine to go for a swim/gum/sauna etc
