Positive: Amazing setting - rhino’s and their calf grazed on the lawn right in-front of us! Godfrey is onsite 24 hours to attend to every need. Absolutely gorgeous place!

Negative: I cannot fault it!

Summary: Absolutely amazing - 2 game drives were included and we saw lots of animals beautiful sunrise and sunsets

Positive: We had a truly wonderful time during our weekend getaway with a group of 12 close friends and family. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for—truly spoiling us with their hospitality. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the game drives, guided by the exceptional Ranger Godfrey. His deep knowledge of the land’s history and wildlife added so much depth to the experience, making each drive not only exciting but also educational. He took such thoughtful care of us—packing a cooler bag and blankets for the drives, Early evenings he spoiled us even more by lighting fires inside the home and at the outdoor fire pit to warm us and keep us cozy. Another unforgettable part of our stay was watching the wildlife roam freely right on our doorstep, gathering at the nearby watering hole. It was an incredible experience to witness such natural beauty so up close—something truly special that made our time there feel magical. Every morning, we woke to a spotless home, cleaned and prepared before we were even up, setting the tone for another day of fun and relaxation. We can’t recommend this venue highly enough to anyone who loves nature, tranquility, and the simple joy of being surrounded by beauty. It was an unforgettable experience, and we’re already looking forward to returning.

Positive: Our stay at Stroomrivier was exceptional. The location is stunning in the middle of a private reserve where we were visited by rhino and buffalo at our doorstep. The staff were also amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they made sure we were well looked after. Huge thank you to Godfrey for being such a champ and going above and beyond.

Negative: The only suggestion I have for other travellers is to not take the turn off from the M4 as it is an 18km dirt road, rather go via Boshoek and take the much shorter dirt road

Summary: 10/10 relaxing and peaceful bush get away in the most serene location

Positive: The finishes on the lodge and the unit are absolutely beautiful everything you need is catered for and the space is very well thought out for larger groups so you not in each others way. Such as walk in fridge and a separate bar fridge area for drinks etc. The animals come to drink at the dam in front of the property all day so you don’t need to leave the lodge to sight animals. The sunset game drive was an added bonus and lots of fun! Little details like ice in the freezer, mini tea/coffee section with bar fridge in the rooms, fire wood was unexpected and lovely. The staff were very helpful and well deserving of a tip! We were lucky enough to meet the owners and they were incredibly hospitable to our large family of 11. Pilanesberg National Park entrance Bakubung gate is a 30minute drive from the lodge which opens around 6am approximately R300 entrance fee for a car of 4 adults. Download a map online to self drive in the park. Or arrange a guided drive with game rangers at the park entrance. Pack binoculars and a cooler-box and spend a full day sighting the big 5. Highly recommend this beautiful lodge for big family groups! We will definitely be back.

Positive: The living area and veranda overlooking the dam where the game came to drink throughout the day was spectacular.The kitchen is beautiful kitted out with plenty of everything that you could need, a huge walk in fridge, freezer , bar fridge and ice maker, you'll want for nothing. Everything is premium quality

Negative: Nothing however a Weber or some kind of more permanent braai for cooking would be an improvement.
