Summary: Was overall a nice place and very accommodating with the exception of a griddle or cooktop didn’t realize there was not a stove so maybe a pizza oven? This was not a huge problem at all just a suggestion, we enjoyed our stay and it was close to everything we wanted to do!!! Thank you

Summary: Cabin was cozy and clean, well equipped. Close to attractions: Giant City State Park and Lodge, Little Grand Canyon, Makanda strip of little shops, Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge, Shawnee Hills Wine Trail, late Senator Paul Simon’s final resting place.

Summary: Garden of the Gods has been on my bucket list for years. I found this cabin and it was perfect. The pictures don’t do it justice. Our Manager (Steven) was great from start to finish. We will be back and have already recommended to family and friends

Summary: I have nothing but gushing reviews for my Makanda Cabin stay. The cabin was easy to navigate to. When I opened the door I found a clean, comfortable, well appointed place, with two good size bedrooms, living room with fireplace, a bathroom stocked with plenty of towels and soap. There was a basket full of treats on the kitchen table. Hangers were in the closets, luggage rack and lots of shelves to organise wedding and hiking clothing. I could truly relax there. My son was able to help out with wedding preparations for his friend in nearby Carbondale, I was free to explore the hiking trails, (Giants City, Garden of the Gods, Panoma Natural Bridge, etc) and attend an outdoor music festival at Grassy Lake. We did not use the cabin's kitchen to meal prep, as I found some lovely places to eat in Cobden, Carbondale... - and of course the Giant City Lodge... ( I even bought an apple pie from a near by orchard for the wedding party.) This location was very quiet at night. I felt quite safe jogging around the near by homes / golf course in the early morning. I would love to stay there again and would recommend this cozy spot to wine tasters, trail hikers and the like.
