Positive: I and my wife liked everything about the property. - All the Staff were very friendly, always smiling and willing to meet your requirements; - The food was always delicious; -The rooms were very comfortable and clean; - Special mention for the staff member Ms Zangmo and the proprietor Mr Wangchok who were always willing to help.

Positive: The views from the room and the garden area.

Negative: It’s looking very tired and run down. They also seem to focus on having hotel ‘stuff’ rather than good service and clean and refreshed carpets and fit and finish to the rooms. There is also no elevator and the restaurant is on the top floor and many of the rooms are up other floors. The communication post booking was also not good. It stated that there was no electricity at night but there was and this was only communicated post booking.

Summary: Very overpriced for what it was.

Positive: We were denied to stay in this hotel (see below), but the local manager of the hotel was incredibly helpful and made all what was possible to mitigate this issue, being at dinner, breakfast, or even at a massage, and we are very grateful for his efforts.

Negative: For the first time in years (on maybe 1000 bookings or more), we were denied the room we booked. One day before our stay, the manager in Leh decided it was a better option to send us at their sister property (the Dunes) to accommodate a group, no matter the fact we had booked it seven months earlier. And if that was not enough, he invoked weather issues, which was not true. The mattresses at the Dunes are overused and my back remembered that for days.

The restaurant deserves special mention – the food is delicious and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The staff takes care of every detail, making every meal a real pleasure. The hotel and restaurant are located in the picturesque mountainous area of Hunder in the Nubra Valley, which means that a stay here is not only about comfort and tasty food, but also unforgettable views and a unique atmosphere. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for hospitality, comfort and natural beauty all in one.
