The COVID-19 pandemic has left us all feeling scared but now the Greek government has decided to open up to tourism.
Messinia remains a safe haven with very few cases reported.
Although we can now eat at restaurants and sit in cafes, the 2 mtrs between tables is being observed and staff are required to self test several times a week.
Masks remain mandatory, especially when shopping.
Just 3 people to a car now and a 12.30 in the evening curfew.
Stone’s throw Cottage & Studio are located outside the town. Koroni centre is an easy 20 min walk or a 5 min drive away. Both properties are safe, secluded havens, set amongst an olive grove with direct access to a peaceful, uncrowded beach.
Both houses are fully equipped to allow for a very comfortable and relaxing stay, putting guests in command of how much they interact with the local community.
Cleaning & disinfecting procedures have been ramped up to ensure the safety of our
guests.

This is your perfect beach accommodation! Just a few meters from the sea and the glorious sandy beach known as Zaga, home to nesting Loggerhead Turtles between July and August.
A traditional property, no frills but perfectly suits the location and the climate.
The property is detached and is separated by a garden from Stone's Throw Cottage, a larger property. These properties can be rented separately or together for larger parties.
Inside the studio is one room comprising a raised platform with mattress for sleeping (Greek Style), there are cupboards and hanging space for clothes in this room, also a double bed/settee for a couple with very small children.
Wifi can be enjoyed at this property and there is air/conditioning in the sleeping/living room.
The next room , with its own front door has a fully fitted kitchen with full sized cooker, fridge/freezer and sink with drainer. There are all utensils, pots and pans etc. a kettle, toaster and juicer. There are tea and coffee making facilities.
There is no indoor shower, but a lovely outdoor shower, surrounded by a wall for privacy, hot water is provided by a solar panel and the toilet and basin are accessed through the outdoor shower space. It really is quirky and fun!
There is a terrace at the front of the property, facing the sea, it has a built in, raised concrete bed with mattress and cushions for that afternoon siesta or sleeping outside in the Summer. There is also a table and chairs for outdoor dining.
Imagine sleeping in a hammock, slung between the Tamarisk trees on a hot Summer's day, listening to the sound of the waves, and dipping into the clear, blue sea to cool off whenever you feel like it.....

Summary: we have stayed here several times in the past, on occasion twice in one year we love it so much, but the difference in the standard this year was vast. The property and grounds look generally unkempt with broken tree branches, washing line and waist high weeds by the shower and toilet. The shower area is quite mouldy and the toilet seat was very loose and wobbly. One sunbed was broken and the other ripped and on the verge of giving in. The matrass for the day bed is now missing. Jina Moeser informed me she was no longer the host and it shows.We had no communication from whoever is now responsible and no contact number either. This didn't matter as we know the property so well . I noticed there was no matrass protector on the bed but found it in the back of the wardrobe several days later. We used it , but it could really do with replacing as it shows considerable signs of wear. For the first time there was no welcome gift of local olive oil/wine. A small gesture but missed. Would we stay again? Absolutely ! The location has to be seen to be believed and nothing can ever detract from that but overall the place seems uncared for now. Jina and Nick were wonderful hosts and they are sorely missed.

Summary: We had such a lovely stay at Stone's throw studio, the location is beautiful right at the beach, the studio is complete with everything you need. The outdoor shower is unique, a view over the sea while showering. Perfect hideaway when you are looking for a quiet magical place to rest and enjoy the beauty of nature. Summary: The location and the house are very nice. Everything is very simply furnished, but in good condition. The outdoor toilet was unusual, but is not visible from the outside, so something different and very good. The location is of course a dream. Directly on the sea. On the whole, the object is worth a visit. We liked it very much.

Summary: This place has to be experienced to be believed. I could literally stay here forever. The sunbeds & beach chairs are a much appreciated added bonus. The almost deserted 2km long beach is pristine apart from the odd bamboo cane. The sea is crystal clear & clean. The studio has everything needed for a wonderfully secluded relaxing stay amongst the flora & faunaof the area .

Summary: What an amazing holiday and mostly down to our wonderful accomodation. Right on the beach. A morning in swim in clear , glassy sea is the best. The support from the Nick and Gina was amazing. Kitchen well stocked with equipment. Loved showering and watching the sea in the outdoor shower. Thank you for everything and we are planning to return next year.

Summary: I booked Stone's Throw specifically because I wanted somewhere quiet and hidden so that I could really get away from people. I wasn't disappointed either. The studio is well equipped and comfortable and really is a stone's throw from the beach. I would definitely recommend and fully intend to return again.

Summary: This is a small property the best feature being the location and outdoor space. It is literally on the beach. There is a garden about 10m long and then the beach begins. It is a lovely beach, my only negative comment is that different people have erected semi-permanent tarps along the beach as if they own it but the beach is big enough to accommodate this. The property is 20 minutes walk, along the beach, from a taverna. In the other direction 20 minutes walk takes you to the end of the beach and then a short but steep walk up and over Koroni and down into the town on the other side, another 10 minutes walk depending on your fitness. The house is basic but well equipped. The outdoor shower is excellent. Whilst there are properties either side, it is a very relaxing place to stay. Jina and Nick were very helpful and welcoming and available to provide assistance (even though none was required).
