Negative: I didn't like the drain directly under the key box, i was worried the key would fall in there when trying to get it back in the box on departure. I'm not convinced it had been cleaned before our arrival there was washing up on the side, an opened pack of bacon in the fridge that smelt, used butter in the fridge. Half finished bottle of wine, vodka, and pepsi on the side. The kitchen bin was full of rubbish. Bedding had marks on it and didn't have a freshly washed smell but gave it the benefit of doubt and just got on with our stay. As per most other reviews, there was no toilet roll, just the empty card still on the holder. we left one on departure for the next guests. I booked an extra night at a higher cost as booking.com wouldn’t let me add to my existing booking £134.50 for 2 nights, then £89 for just 1. However, I did like the cottage and it's location so it wouldn't put off booking it again. I do have a few recommendations to make things easier. Parking disc was in a kitchen draw could do to be on view. Oven glove also in kitchen draw could do to be at the side of the oven. The wifi code given in the booking in instructions is wrong. I had to get it from the hub itself. No normal tv channels (bbc news, itv, etc) and nothing else logged into, e.g, netflix itvx, etc, so advertises a tv but nothing to watch. Lack of kitchen utensils (no large serving spoon or slotted spoon, etc). The only cooking i did was poached eggs but no utensils to get them out of the pan. No microwaveable dishes. Like I have said, though, a great cottage, so I would book again, but just bring more things from home to make it perfect.

Positive: Absolutely loved it here and can’t wait to come back! Fantastic location with so much around - restaurants, pubs, takeaways, supermarkets - everything you need on your doorstep in a lovely little village. The hosts were brilliant - very responsive and provided plenty of helpful information. Check in/out was a breeze. Absolutely perfect for myself, partner & 2 dogs (bonus: no extra charge for the dogs too!) WiFi very reliable. Bed very comfy. Bathroom nicely done and a great bath and shower. Everything smelled fresh and clean. On the doorstep of the North York moors and the coast. Very friendly locals too! Myself, partner (& pooches!) travel a lot and this is the best place we’ve found to date. Absolutely perfect for our needs. I can’t speak highly enough about this place!
