Summary: If you are looking for a place that gives you the U.P. experience of being on a lake but away from tourists, this is the perfect place for you! The hosts have done a great job of updating the home with modern amenities while keeping the right amount of rustic charm of the original home. Perched high on a quiet and beautiful inland lake, whether you sit on the screen-in porch, the open air deck or dock by the water, you will feel like you have the place to yourself. The hosts open their vacation home such that you feel like it is yours and provide you with everything you need for your stay except for food and drink. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking indoors as well as an outdoor gas grill. If you don't feel like cooking, multiple restaurant suggestions are 5, 15 and 30 mins away. Beds and linens are comfortable and accommodating to everyone's needs with extras. The use of the sauna is a great benefit after a long day of hiking. The house is located such you can go explore in every direction. Book this house as it is truly a gem! Cannot wait to go back in the fall to explore more.

Summary: This property was even better than the pictures. We had a wonderful time. It is private and relaxing. Not too far from town. The host was amazing and responded promptly to any needs. Also had a book with information about the local area. We really enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend.

Summary: Roose’s Roost was the perfect cabin for our Fall trip. I wanted to see fall foliage and we didn’t even need to leave the camp for that. The yard was great size for the dogs to run around. We didn’t make it to Chris’ suggested hike to the sandy beach because of rain but maybe next year. The cabin was great, exactly what we needed. Thank you to Chris and Pam! Maybe we’ll see you next year!
