This fabulous, detached cottage, a short drive from Killorglin, can sleep 12 people in five bedrooms.
Stephens Cottage is a wonderful, detached cottage nestled in luscious, rolling countryside a short drive from Killorglin. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms with Jack-and-Jill access to a shower room. On the ground floor, the cottage has a double room with an en-suite wet room, two family rooms each with a double and a childs single bed (up to 12 years of age), and a family bathroom boasting a Jacuzzi bath. Socialise in the open plan living area with a kitchen with a breakfast bar and a woodburner, a dining area, and a sitting area. There is also a separate sitting room boasting a roaring open fire. Outside, there is a front, lawned garden with furniture and ample off road parking. Stephens Cottage is the perfect base for friends and families exploring County Kerry.

Summary: This property was even better positioned than I realised when booking. It's near both the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. We (including 7&9 year old) particularly enjoyed Inch Beach with its dramatic landscape, waves dunes and facilities that included surfing schools and the pub with the beach views. We were very pleased that we invested in wetsuits as weather was mixed. We wouldn't have missed striding into the waves for anything! There are plenty of places for eating out in Kilorglin and Glenbeith. Glenbeith Hotel had traditional music every night for the high season. We were pleased with the house as plenty of room for eleven of us and could have squashed in a couple more as there were sofa beds in upstairs room. The children liked the jacuzzi. The lack of wi-fi maybe a blessing to some! It would have been handy but not essential to us. The kitchen is well-equipped and large even for two families doing different food. The front garden was great for various games as lots of space. The house is on a quiet road so also handy for stretching legs and jogging. The landlady could not have been keener to ensure we had a good stay.
