Summary: Room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Hazel and Ian were superb hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices. Would highly recommend.

Summary: My boyfriend and I were driving up to Scotland from Essex and needed a place closer to the borderlands. I looked up quaint places and found Penrith to be a good stopping point. Upon further research I found the Stafford house, and thank heavens I did. I’ve never felt so attended and cared after as I did during this stay. It truly feels like you’re taken back in time with all the amenities you need in current times. I would suggest this to every person on the planet. You will be well taken care of and have a warm (if you’re traveling in the fall/winter) and wonderful stay. They provide an extensive and varied breakfast that is absolutely incredible. A note if you’re using hotels.com: they do not communicate any information to the host. This is an issue on the 3rd parties end(like hotels.com and Expedia). I highly suggest reaching out to the property once the room is booked to provide your details so they can contact you directly, if needed.
