Positive: We stayed 2 nights at Stadel Soussun and had the loveliest experience, starting before we even arrived. Linda was very available and responded quickly to any inquiries I had before arriving. Soussun is remote without being too remote. We arrived by car (only possible if you have 4x4!!), but you can take the funicular from Champoluc and arrange pick up with the hotel. The funicular station is probably about a kilometer from the hotel so if you plan on going down to town often, there’s that to take into consideration. We, even having a car, were perfectly happy to spend the weekend out of the craze of town! The hotel is warm and cozy and really makes you feel like you’re somewhere special! The structure is over 500 years old, but it was super clean and we had everything we needed and were very comfortable. Having the half-pension is a must as there’s nowhere else to eat, and it’s well worth it as we ate very, VERY well! Breakfast was fresh and dinner was extremely tasty! I’m a vegetarian and had no problems! If you’re a vegan, maybe check with the hotel beforehand about the menu because there was plenty of cheese! We only had one full day and we used it to go on a gorgeous hike, passing the rifugio Paradiso, rifugio La Mandria, up to Lake Ciacerio, down to Lake Contenery and the rifugio Belvedere for lunch. Beautiful views of Monterosa and the glaciers! We were sad to leave and will definitely return with the kids!! All was above board with covid rules as well, which I admit I liked seeing!

Positive: Excellent small renovated traditional farmhouse into a hotel. Great location to start one of many hiking tours and to enjoy the peaceful nature of the place to relax afterwards! The rooms are comfortable. The owners are very welcoming and go out of their way to help with any requests. Recommended.
