Summary: Both the hydro pool and outdoor pool were closed and the seaside restaurant also closed early so limited choice of evening food. We have been visiting for years but I find maintenance and upkeep of the hotel is not good - rooms disappointing and tatty. Breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent as always! We made a decision not to return.

Summary: We enjoyed the indoor & outdoor pool and breakfast was excellent. The room was a good size with everything required for a pleasant stay. We didn’t dine here in the evening as the restaurant was fully booked but the menu wasn’t very good so we were happy to eat at The Cracking Crab in Polzeath. We found check in & check out times a little inconvenient for a hotel-room wasn’t ready until 4pm and checkout at 10am meant breakfast was rushed. Parking was tricky as the hotel was busy, EV chargers weren’t working and the shuttle bus was not available so we had to drive to Polzeath. Overall a pleasant stay but not quite perfect for the cost.

Summary: A great stay. Amenities, breakfast, staff, all great. However they could do with preparing better for hot spells. The rooms aren’t air conditioned and the fan really didn’t cut the mustard. The duvets were far too heavy for a regular summer night, so during a heatwave definitely unusable. Please consider lightweight duvets for summer months

Summary: Lovely breakfast, evening meals freshly cooked although limited menu. Pool/spa area very nice. Outdoor pool such a bonus with this heatwave!! King room,no2, ground floor clean comfortable with good tea/coffee etc, plus fresh milk and waters.

Summary: Very overpriced. Room had no WiFi signal. No air conditioning. Breakfast was awful. Dried out from sitting under heat lamp. No baked beans?! No outside area to sit and enjoy a drink except down by the pool but pool bar closed so had to walk back up to hotel to get a drink. Furniture in bar area looked nice old and in need of replacing. Hotel in general looked like it needed some money spent on it. Looked tired and old. All in all not a good experience for £222 a night!
