St Martins Farmhouse is a beautiful, recently refurbished 5 bedroom property set in a great location in Normandy, it can comfortably accommodate up to 9 people plus two travel cots.
It is a great holiday destination only 10 minutes from Bars and Restaurants and indoor pool in Villedieu les Poeles and the outdoor pool/lido in Brecy, which has a toddler pool, children's pool and a larger pool (they sell coffee or crepes for around a euro and it is next to a great lake for walks).
At the house we have everything you could need inc dishwasher, washing machine, Sky (uk free sat), large living room with wood burner , playroom, beautiful country kitchen, 5 bedrooms* 3 bathrooms, large garden with table and chairs and a large chimney BBQ.
GET AWAY FROM IT ALL - No internet - holidays should be a good excuse to switch off!
BUT IF YOU REALLY NEED TO GET ONLINE YOU CAN GET 3G/4G ROAMING JUST A SHORT WALK UP THE LANE.
HOTEL IN TOWN ALSO HAS FREE WIFI - FOR THE PRICE OF A COFFEE!
For young families we have stair gates, high chairs, travel cots, bed guards, and gated outdoor play area, play-station 2, dish washer and washing machine.
We have a play room with lots of good toys.
And for older children we have toys (board games - jenga etc) and a PlayStation 2(30+ games),a dance matt, there is a separate play room for the kids, and a gated outdoor play area as well as swings, trampoline etc
There are whole host of attractions near by including swimming pool/zoo/adventure parks/beautiful beach sandy beach within 30 minutes drive.
This is an ideal family holiday home. We have everything you could need. The house is set in an acre, including garden, orchard and outbuildings. The roses are in bloom throughout the summer and if you come at the right time of year there are peaches, cherries, walnuts, apples and pears to enjoy straight out of the garden!

Summary: This house is full of charm and feels miles from anywhere, so it is very, very quiet. Villedieu-les-poeles is the nearest town and is picturesque with a great range of food shops and excellent Tuesday market. Loads to do in the area if you are prepared to drive a bit. Local zoo is a must with kids and we loved the town of Avranches with its views of Mont St Michel and Granville with its seafood restaurants. Manoir de l'Archerie is nearby and does a top-notch, great-value set lunch. The D-day beaches and Bayeux are further away but, combined, made a superb day trip. The house has loads of toys provided and a great range of DVDs, plus English TV that the kids appreciated. With the trampoline and boules, as well, we wanted for nothing. The kitchen was very well equipped, too. Pity the weather was so poor when we were there (August) but we were never short of things to do, although the house did seem damp and washed clothes took an age to dry. We wouldn't expect an old property like this to be 100% pristine but the downstairs bathroom was really dirty. Everywhere else was ok or good, though.

Summary: We loved the st Martins farmhouse. There was plenty of room for our family and enough to do for our children. The house has a playroom for the children for the rainy days, a beautiful kitchen with dishwasher, was machine and oven and five wonderful bedrooms to house a large family like ours. The garden is huge, so there was plenty of room for the children to play. There even was a trampoline and other outdoor stuff for them. A lot of shady places for us to rest and eat. A nice barbecue which we used several times. Due to the structure of the house it was very cool on the extremely hot days, which we had several of. And when it rained it was pleasant to stay indoors. The area where the house is situated was very quiet, which we loved. The only thing you’d hear was nature and occasionally the neighbours. We completely de-stressed, after a long year of hard work. We fell in love with Normandy on our previous vacation. The landscape is beautiful with a lot of variation. St martins farmhouse is located perfectly. Surrounded by nature, but only a ten minute drive from Villedieu-les-Poêles and it’s supermarkets. The only problem we ran into was that we at first couldn’t find the house and couldn’t get in, because we never received the owners information from homeaway. Luckily we could contact the owner to get this straightened out. All in all: this is a place we could come back to when opportunity arises.

Summary: Lovely and well-supplied house with great space for 1-2 families. Big garden/orchard and the ‘barn’ attached to one end of the house was perfect extra play space. Surrounded by farmlands (which did mean quite a lot of flies around!) so wonderfully quiet and away from everything - but 2 lovely towns nearby (Villedieu and Brecey) and good access to routes for beaches and exploring Normandy more generally. We had a very happy stay here 😊

Summary: We visited St Martin's after a week spent in Chartres and the Loire. It provided the ideal place for a short rest and then for visiting Normandy and Northern Brittany. The house is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The garden is large, peaceful and was, at the time of our visit, full of heavily laden fruit trees. The house was clean and the garden well maintained. The owners were very helpful. We'll be back. Recommended.
