Positive: Ria, the hotel manager was exceptional - definitely the best part and there were many great parts to this stay. Location was perfect, room was quaint and perfect - a bit small - but that is the era. The bathrooms were shared but otherwise fantastic. The breakfast was outstanding and my kids and I raved about the fresh croissants. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Negative: Nothing really.

Positive: We loved everything – our host Ria, the hotel, and Barkerville itself. The hotel is incredibly beautiful and decorated in a charming period style. The room was an absolute highlight. Even though the house is quite old and you can hear some sounds, it was always peaceful, and everyone was considerate of each other. The charm of the historic building combined with the warmth of our host made the trip truly worthwhile. We are absolutely thrilled!

Positive: The uniqueness, history.

Negative: No elevator, (for physically challenged) bathrooms in units, but it was very cool to experience the era. The long walk to the hotel from the parking lot. Have something to transport people that are physically challenged that arrive later than normal hours.

Summary: My mom and I appreciated the stay and experience of history.
