Positive: Really professional and quick service, breakfast was also good. The hotel is situated right next to one of the main shopping areas, and close to the subway. When we got our room, it smelled like cigarettes, even though we booked a non-smoking room. When we brought this up with the front desk, they immediately allowed us to view other rooms to judge whether others were better in our view. We switched then rooms. They also offered help with switching, but we didn't have a lot of luggage, so we refused. A cute little robot brought us our second room card, which was also really fun to see.

Positive: Convenient location, super clean, great breakfast, helpful to have laundry facilities as well that can be monitored through the TV. Nice view.

Negative: Busy elevator with all the other hotels in the building.

Positive: The hotel’s location is fantastic, the room is comfortable, and the bed and shower are of excellent quality (in fact, the shower was perhaps my favorite feature — strong water pressure). It’s located right across from the subway and close to the main attractions in the city. The breakfast is excellent and varied. They also offer a convenient laundry service, which made my stay much easier.

Negative: The main issue with the hotel is that it actually occupies a few floors of a commercial building, which also houses other hotels and businesses. As a result, the elevators are chaotic, with long waits during peak hours (sometimes I had to wait for 3 or 4 elevators before I could get in). Additionally, the staff speaks no English at all — not even the receptionists. Nowadays, this can be solved with translation apps, but in a luxury hotel in a major city like Chongqing, I believe basic English should be expected. Lastly, even though the hotel is non-smoking, some guests were smoking in their rooms, and the smell of cigarettes could be felt in the hallways.

Summary: A good choice, but there are some things to consider.

Positive: Probably the best variety of breakfast we have ever had since we arrived in China. There are a lot of choices. The staff are welcoming and informative, as always. The location is 10 out of 10. Hongya, People’s Liberation Monument, Kuixing Building, and Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street are just a short walking distance away. Easy hailing of Didi for drop-off and pick-up. Highly recommended!
