Positive: 4th visit. Some nice touches. Ideal for 2 people. Nicely positioned to the quieter northern end.

Negative: Please alert the owner if they do not know already. Chimney pot tile come down during storm Amey on Friday 3rd.

Positive: The cottage was lovely. Nice neighbours. Everything was cleaned well when we arrived. Kitchen was well equipped. Location was great for fell hiking and easy to get into the village as well as Keswick/Cockermouth. Suggest however you ask guests to turn off hot water tank over night to avoid the noise as there is plenty of hot water if just left on for a couple of hours in the evening. Also more energy efficient. Lovely little cottage and garden with fantastic views. Once the issue below is sorted we would recommend staying.

Negative: Sadly we had slug parties each night!! Their slime trail was all over the livingvroom carpet in the mornings. We informed the agent - twice via email and when no response with a phone call.. They said maintenance would come that day and as one of us was in we agreed. Alas no one came that day with no call back either. So the slugs kept coming. For the owner: They enter through the old original stones under the fire place, this needs sealing otherwise it will continue. With this issue it is also not safe to let to families with children sadly at present. One thing we missed was a washing machine. As husband and son were hiking the fells we would have found a washing machine useful. Just to make others aware should they need this if they stay longer and with kids. The cottage next door was being re-roofed which meant early waking and we also had to leave the car in a layby as their truck was needed in front of the cottage. Nice chaps and always friendly mind.
