Positive: Was inviting and clean. Was given an upgrade on arrival, bonus. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Large french windows overlooking well-kept grounds. Very quiet and peaceful and added bonus was an owl lulling me to sleep.

Negative: If I was being very picky, the wooden bathroom toilet roll holder and toothbrush holder didn't match the beautiful bathroom. My biggest complaint was breakfast. Was not good at all. Hardly anything left, and what was left was far from appetising.....ok, so it was 9.30 (I had a lay in as I'd travelled far the day before). Breakfast finished at 10! But still. I'd expect more on offer. No Greek yoghurt, only a couple of toffee flavour. Only two plain croissants left, no other pastries. Only defrosted frozen berries left. One sausage left. Eggs looked disgusting, both fried and scrambled. Couldn't find the milk for cereal? It was very noisy too.

Positive: Very friendly staff and good breakfast and dinner. Nice outdoor pool. Large bedroom and spacious lounge area.

Negative: Some dust in the bedrooms. Hotel in need of external decoration.

Positive: We have been before and it has such lovely grounds, and a lovely heated outdoor pool. The bedroom with a lovely balcony was so clean and large and peaceful even in the school holidays.

Negative: The indoor spa was being refurbished ( in August ??? ). Fortunately the weather was wonderful so we didn’t need it but that was one reason we booked because we can’t rely on English Weather. The Hotel now is looking a little tired needs some TLC

Positive: Heated outdoor pool. Nice restaurant/bar, good quality food and very nice staff

Negative: Frontage in desperate need of tlc - I’d suggest they employ a Gardener. With a little effort and small investment the frontage could be so much more welcoming

Summary: Nice traditional country stay. Took us back to the 70’s but in a good way.
