Positive: It felt like staying overnight in a piece of history, deeply rooted in Australian culture. The renovated bathroom was very pleasant after our 20km trail.

Negative: Perhaps it needs a small bedside lamp in the master bedroom.

Positive: So close to town, so peaceful and tranquil, the old charm was beautiful

Negative: Bed was extremely uncomfortable and squeaky, pillows and bedding stained and hairs everywhere, toilet very unclean, very very dusty, fridge very dirty, cobwebs, the place needs a really good clean when your paying $300 a night I love the whole very old feel of the cottage and town but so disappointed in the un cleanliness of the place ☹️ (I needed a bandaid and the Medikit bandaids were so old and stained I couldn’t use them)

Positive: Perfect location, perfect cottage, gorgeous town! The cottage is original but maintained, apart from the bathroom which is conveniently and tastefull modernised. Love that it's dog friendly too. The yard is huge and gorgeous, the sounds of the birds and the stream separating the property from the street are idyllic, and you're a short walk to the shops. The house, like the town, is oozing with local history. You'll have everything you could need, and the host is super lovely and easy to communicate with. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Negative: The lounge room has a dusty musky smell, maybe like smoke. Coffee was expired, and the bed was average.

Positive: Wallhalla is a genuine old town experience with mostly heritage buildings buried in bushland. Complete remote bush getaway. The Cottage was 1871 built with enough mod cons to be comfortable but not totally at the expense of the "old charm". Really loved it! Unfortunately the power went out on the first night(regional outage) and wasn't forecast to be on for a while. Fiona was very reasonable and gave us a full refund on the 2nd night without any fuss.😊

Negative: Patchy mobile and GPS coverage. To be expected though.

Summary: Genuine old gold town place. Will be back in summer for the trail walks!
