Positive: We loved absolutely everything about the property. We wanted somewhere quiet and mostly remote to relax for our honeymoon and this place absolutely delivered. Stunning surroundings, quiet except for birdsong and the occasional sheep bleating. The cottage was decorated to a high standard and spotlessly clean, and it was so lovely to have the wood burner to keep us cosy. Hannah and Ross were very lovely and accommodating. Would stay here again and very much hope to!

Some great walks and views , excellent wildlife visible from the house (especially red squirrels) Hannah and Ross were so nice and helpful also the best of hosts

Positive: We had a lovely wee stay here this weekend. We arrived to a beautiful Log Fire burning. Nice and clean. Very homely vibe. We came for a nice relaxation weekend before our baby was born and it didn't disappoint. It was so peaceful and out the way. Nice big comfy bed. Everything we needed for the whole weekend. We didn't see much of the hosts but they constantly checked in and made sure we had all that we needed. We woke up too Chickens roaming the courtyard. Big cows down the rd. Beautiful scenery. We will absolutely stay here again xx

Positive: Stonehous is, as the name implies, a stone cottage which, according to a caretaker who was tending to the little widdies next door, is a two hundred year old structure that is part of a three hundred year old farm. The owner met us at the door, as it was quite chilly, and he was already there starting a fire for us in the little but effective Danish wood heater. He gave us a thorough tour of the cottage and told us everything we needed to know about turning on the oil heat, operating the wood-burner, turning on the heated floor in the bathroom, etc. The cottage was equipped with every amenity we would want, the decor was simple, unique and creative (I believe his wife was the artist). The bed was lovely and the views over the Angus countryside were stunning. It is still a working farm, and it was impressive to observe the operation quietly going on around us. The host, Ross, was a lovely gentleman and thoughtful to notice that we arrived direct from the flight from the US and went to the house and bought us a tray of lunch fixings and some milk and fruit. The property is tucked a ways back from the highway into Forfar on an Angus one-lane road, which took us just a bit to get used to, but it felt absolutely perfect that way. I would love to go back.

Summary: Though we were here here for three nights, we could have gladly stayed much longer!

Positive: Everything was great. Very comfortable bed, great shower, full kitchen facilities, good WiFi. Lovely welcoming log fire when we arrived. Very quiet, lovely outside areas with great views. Plenty of wildlife, stoats, red squirrels, deer to name a few we’ve seen over the weekend.

Negative: Nothing, everything was wonderful.

Positive: Lovely cottage with stylish and artistic interior. Really comfy bed and great shower. We loved the heated floor in the bathroom and the woodburner. Peaceful location and beautiful countryside with lots of walking. Autumn is a perfect time to stay here.
