Location:
Located just a few miles from the stunning Painted Hills, one of the 7 Wonders of Oregon, our home is spacious and open with modern amenities and relaxing outdoor spaces. We have completely updated the house with all new furniture and beautiful design touches making it the perfect place to stay when exploring Central & Eastern Oregon!
A short walk to Mitchell's Main Street with a brewery, three restaurants, general store, and a gas station, this house is centrally located and but feels very private when relaxing in the back yard.
Our House:
This house has two bedrooms with new queen size beds and memory foam mattresses along with an additional queen size sleeper sofa in the living room. Each bed has soft sheets, extra blankets if needed and plenty of pillows.
Our large kitchen has stainless steel appliances including a large refrigerator, dishwasher, new stove, microwave & toaster oven. It is well stocked with dishware and cookware along with cooking staples such as spices and oil making it easy to cook all your favorite meals. We also have a propane grill in our back yard, with propane included!
We have a Keurig single serve coffee maker with several complimentary pods to use and a coffee press if you bring ground coffee (We do not have a coffee grinder).
Our dining table is extendable for seating and we provide extra chairs for seating up to six people.
We have a fenced front yard, and a very large fenced back yard with a covered patio, seating for 6, and cornhole & croquet for entertainment.
We have free wifi, a dvd player with a selection of movies, a Roku streaming device that can be used with your Netflix, Prime or Hulu accounts and books and games. We do not provide cable or satellite tv.
We are also listed on Airbnb (with many more reviews) if that is easier for you to book!

Summary: They had everything you’d need, plus much more! The kitchen and bathroom were completely stocked. Plenty of dishes, cookware, spices, condiments, coffee, tea and more!! They even provided a high chair which was perfect for our visiting grandchild! Look forward to staying again in the futureVery spacious with an open living concept.

Summary: Our stay at this property exceeded our expectations in every way! The spacious house and fully fenced yard met all the needs of humans and dog alike. It felt as though we were staying in a friend’s home, not a rental. Plenty of high quality linens, a kitchen as well stocked as any we’ve ever stayed in, really comfortable furniture, and a lovely quiet neighbourhood. It was the perfect home base for exploring the area. Communication with the host was accurate and easy, which enabled us to relax and enjoy our stay. Bonus: if you don’t feel like cooking, Tiger Town (local brew pub) makes great food and beverages!

Summary: This house is the perfect place to stay if you want to see the Painted Hills. It was clean and comfortable, and the fenced yard was perfect for my two dogs! The caretakers were so friendly and helpful as well. We had everything we needed and would definitely stay again!

Summary: Erin's house was great! We had two people so more space than we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked with any appliance you might want (although we did bring our own coffee grinder) and Erin was extremely helpful. The neighbors in this small town were so friendly and the house was in the perfect location to be our home base while we explored John Day.

Summary: If you’re planning a trip to the Painted Hills or John Day Fossil Beds, this is your place! Centrally located, it’s an easy drive to everywhere. The property is very nice, fenced in yard for dogs if you have them, and is quiet. Don’t forget to check out Tiger Town brewery, great food and drinks!

Summary: Quaint small town with plenty of friendly locals. The area was incredibly beautiful, though there was fire smoke that rolled in from wildfires during the evening of our last stay (out of control of anyone in VRBO or the owner). Located off a pretty quiet highway and nestled in a quiet neighborhood. The yard and property were spacious and very well maintained. The back yard is great for hanging out and socializing as its got plenty of seating and a view of the back hills.
