Positive: Another gem of a property well located on the east of Dartmoor to explore the moor, the surrounding villages, towns and south coast. We stayed in the shoemaker annex and found it and the whole village really relaxing. It is spacious and well equipped. The bed was very comfy, the dining/living area large and outside are two large loungers where we read most afternoons/late evenings. Plenty of parking. Heather is very friendly and accommodating and the perfect host. It is set overlooking a wonderful valley with a large forest and many circular walks ranging from 45 minutes to three hours dependent on your abilities. We walked 2 and got some amazing pictures. The locals are also friendly and we ate out twice at the Palk Arms where the atmosphere is relaxing and the food delicious. Wednesday night is quiz night...see if you can better last! We would recommend booking. We also visited Haytor Tor (great views of the area and coast), Widdecombe (great pub and cafe), Salcombe and Dartmouth (no more than 1 hour from the cottage on the coast), Bovey Tracey (has a nice Inde bookshop), Totnes, Ashburton & Moretonhampstead (nice shops). Overall however this was intended for us to be a relaxing take it easy holiday and we found ourselves more and more drawn back to Hennock and its quite peaceful ways. Would definitely recommend.

Positive: Very spacious clean cottage fully equipped with everything we needed. Our dog was made very welcome which is always a good thing. Very comfy bed indeed ! Parking outside the cottage which was great. Hennock is a small ptetty village. Lovely views.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay in Hennock. The place was charming, spotless, and very comfortable, and it was a perfect base for exploring the area. Heather was a fantastic host — warm, welcoming, and quick to help with anything we needed. We’d happily stay again and highly recommend it.

Negative: Tip for future guests: be sure to follow Heather’s driving instructions — Google Maps isn’t reliable for the best route to Hennock.

Positive: Lovely bright cottage. Very spacious and decorated to a high standard. We were greeted my Heather who was a lovely lady and very helpful. The surrounding are so peaceful and relaxing, away from the crowds. It was lovely to sit outside in the sunny position. There is a local pub just 2 minutes walk away.

Positive: Lovely, comfortable cottage. All modern facilities, really well equipped. It looked like they have just refurbished the place recently. Everything seemed like new. We had a great stay. Also it is dog friendly but we made sure we covered the furniture with blankets to keep them clean. The Moors are accessible through a gate right next to the cottage, so ideal for walks. Village pub is just down the road which is a bonus! When we stayed there the boiler was broken, but we were provided plenty of oil radiators and electric heaters to keep warm.

Positive: We loved the location,the cottage was a good size,very well equipped,well decorated and had all the creature comforts. The views are outstanding,there is a beautiful church, a really lovely pub full of character and characters!!! Excellent walks literally from the front door. Also close to the nice town of Bovey Tracey where you will find shops, pubs and restaurants. The owner Heather was lovely and gave us tips on nice walks and places to visit.

Negative: Nothing,it was all lovely,a proper chill out between Christmas and New Year.
