Positive: Very caring, friendly, joyful and accommodating family. If you’re looking for a rental car make sure to contact the owner. He is very helpful, also in regard to planning your stay.

Positive: I had an amazing experience staying at Gonzalo’s place. He rents a spare room, and it was perfect—comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Gonzalo is extremely knowledgeable about the Falkland Islands and always ready to help with anything you need. His family is equally warm and hospitable. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended!

Positive: Absolutely, the best thing you can do when coming to Falkland Islands is staying with Gonzalo in Southernwind. He will make you feel like a part of family, help you with organizing your stay, and in solving some troubles. Perfect option for solo travelers, and for 2 or 3 people, too. I recommend it with my full heart.

Positive: Gonzalo was fabulous! He was so fun and interesting and really worked to ensure I learned about local culture and he gave me many wonderful experiences! He also gave me several local tours when he had some free time, though he does have a full-time job. When he was busy, he booked tours with other people when I asked, so I was never bored. He's also bilingual, English-Spanish. I actually met another person who stayed with Gonzalo and so I was confident going in because she sung his praises. I wasn't disappointed.

Negative: The location was good--pretty centrally located, but I did have to walk uphill to get there from downtown. I'm lazy. Lol This wouldn't be an ideal location for someone in a wheelchair. But Stanley is quite hilly, so unless you are staying on the front road, there's no avoiding the hills. But Gonzalo was worth the effort! I loved my time there!

Positive: My stay at Southernwind - Spareroom was comfortable, affordable, and at a great location in Stanley. Gonzalo and his family were extremely accommodating helpful and polite. The meals that they prepared and shared with me were always delicious. The accommodations are functional, practical and modest. More than enough for me as one person. If you're considering a trip, and need help planning an itinerary, Gonzalo is very knowledgeable and helpful with that. I would recommend Southernwind - Spareroom to any Falkland Island tourist, especially ones who need help planning an itinerary. Thank you Gonzalo, and your family, for a wonderful stay.
