Positive: The old house is a unique setting. It feels more homey that a hotel. The service was perfect and friendly. Breakfast was a treat.

Negative: There should be some outdoor lighting in the driveway and garden area at night.

Positive: When we needed breakfast it was exceptional and good value. Location to family was great and the hostess, Julia, was very helpful. The "Hobbert House" was a little smaller than expected, but we managed.

Negative: Would probably been a lot less cramped if we had been in one of the "A" rooms

Positive: The property is quite lovely. The garden cottage, whilst small, has everything you might need for a self contained stay. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary glass of Sauvignon served by Julia. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.

Positive: We received a warm welcome from the kind and considerate host. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by trees and wildlife despite the fairly busy road nearby. The Hobbit House pod is clean and very well equipped. Staying in the pod is rather like luxury glamping. It is a small space but has everything you need provided, including cooking facilities and a sheltered Geodomex as a sitting/dining room. You have to realise what you're taking on and take the size into account when planning what extra stuff you'll bring with you. But that can be part of the fun if you're adaptable and adventurous.

Summary: We loved our stay in a beautiful setting, with a warm welcome and great breakfasts.

Positive: The location was ideal as it is close to town and some fantastic countryside for walking. The French doors led out to the garden where we sat in the sunshine and enjoyed our freshly cooked breakfast. The shower was brilliant, good pressure and lots of hot water.
