Positive: This is my second time and I love the location as it’s gorgeous. It was raining this time so the views were not as prevalent. I love the big chunky wood and the warm cozy atmosphere. The bed was extremely comfortable. The spa was relaxing. The food in the Cascade room was excellent.

Negative: I didn’t love that when we got to the hotel. There was all kinds of activity happening in the lobby from people dressed up for a costume party to lots of high school kids in formal attire… it was very loud and chaotic. I loved the spa and sauna in the women’s locker room because it’s peaceful and secluded but the main pool and spas had lots of little kids that were loud and trying to get our attn. Thankfully, we love children, but we also were expecting a more relaxing experience in there. My massage was very average, but my husband’s was excellent. Our best friends had the same two ladies massage them and the wife said that was the softest massage she ever received and it didn’t even feel like she got anything done and her husband said his was excellent. We enjoyed the delicious food in the cascade room and our waiter was very charming and did a great job but he had so many tables to wait on that we did a lot of waiting for everything. Two of the desserts of the four that were offered were sold out by the time he made it to our table to ask if we wanted anything. I think they need to hire more staff in the restaurant. However, the scenery and the fact that we were with our closest friends was fine with us and we enjoyed everything that we ordered on the menu.

Positive: Location was absolutely wonderful. Overall we liked the views better than Sunriver.

Negative: I had an unfavorable experience in the gift shop. I had bought my grandson a travel chess set from the gift shop. His dad carefully set it up at dinner and found it was missing one rook and several magnets. The next morning I popped back in to replace it and was met with a skeptical clerk who first gave me a weird look about my story and then said she’d replace it just THIS time. What if the next one also had problems? She then asked for my receipt. I wasn’t given one but I had charged it to my room. She said only the front desk could see the charges. I told her I’d go get it. She refused that option. I then offer d to open the new one in front of her and make sure it was good and if it wasn’t we could borrow from the old. She also didn’t want me to do that. She had no remorse we’d been put out it just felt like she thought we were scamming her. Thankfully the new one was 100% but this felt bad. Later that day I made another purchase with her and watched as she gave nobody before me receipts. The other negative is that on Sunday morning we had decided to have a slow restful morning in our room but we were awaken to something I can only describe as a loud water hammer that went on for several minutes. It happened four times - either when we ran water or our neighboring room flushed the toilet. We also had to move rooms after the first night. Different floor but same fireplace and river view. I was sure something could be worked out when we arrived since I had to book it in two separate nights just to stay two consecutive nights at the hotel. Unfortunately- there wasn’t anything to be done but it was odd the second room was ready to move into at 11 something the next day. Other than that, it was a nice property to stay at.
