Positive: This new hotel is a private accommodation for yourself. Masa the owner was an incredible host: accommodating and informative. He provided recommendations and helped book reservations on the island. He also gave us a tea ceremony experience with matcha. His background in architecture translated very well to the overall design of the home and you could feel the quality in the woodwork and overall workmanship of the renovation. This was one of the best hotels my wife and I have stayed at.

Positive: The hotel is a very beautiful and well crafted traditional Japanese experience, we had a wonderful time staying here. Everything is so well designed, right to the last detail and just amazing to experience. Everything is just so nice to look at, I could have spent a lot longer here just relaxing and enjoying our time at Sion hotel and Miyajima. The onsen was also so lovely too. Masatoshi was an amazing host, very helpful and friendly during check in/out, and providing us with a tea ceremony and evening drinks which was such a nice touch!

Negative: Nothing, everything was really great!

Summary: A beautiful traditional Japanese hotel, would 100% recommend!

Positive: Masa and Hiro are a wonderful couple doing their utmost to make you feel at home in their brand new place. The house is rebuilt with high quality wooden details, the private bath feels so good after a walk to the top of Mt Misen and you’re only minutes away from the ferry and the Itsukusima Shrine. If you have the possibility go for the private cooking experience!
