The room itself was outstanding — easily the best night’s sleep I had during my time in Japan. The location is ideal: peaceful and tucked away from the crowds, offering a real sense of escape. Dinner was pleasant, though not the highlight — the food was fine and service was great, but it’s not somewhere you’d come for a culinary standout. That said, during the day you can enjoy the street food stands nearby and opt for a lighter meal in the evening.

Summary: If you are considering splurging for a night here, do it. The staff is excellent and the room immaculate. Great soaking tub, free snack lounge & breakfast with delicious food. We will be back. It is also nice to have all the tourists leave and be on the peaceful, quiet island at night.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Itsukushima Iroha. Wish we could’ve stayed longer than one night. Short walk from the ferry terminal. The staff was so wonderful! The snack/continental breakfast room was lovely. Our room was divine! We were upgraded to a sea view room where we could enjoy the famous Torii gate from our window. The hotel was so quiet and serene, even as the streets outside were bustling with island visitors. This stay was a definite highlight of our time in Japan.
