Summary: We stayed in the Carriage House and loved it. Coffee on the 1820 House porch watching the sun come up over the meadow with the Talcott Mountain Ridge. Simsbury is a great place to have a summertime slowdown.

Summary: At first I thought “ what did I get myself into” because the hotel is old . But then quickly realized that it’s old but high quality hotel . Awesome staff members such as Sarah , Glen and maintenance guy Joseph . The property and its surroundings are AMAZING ! And a pleasure to explore the wilderness / suburbs settings along with the creativity of the town of Simsbury . Plenty of restaurants and stores nearby immediately. They have a park/ frog pond in back of 1820 Hotel along with walking trail and plenty of baby frogs . Room I had was very small but I still enjoyed the 4 day stay nonetheless. I appreciated that they have the cleaning crew closet door in hallway and did not lock it therefore I was able to grab the vacuum cleaner anytime I needed it which I enjoyed since I was traveling with my dog and he sheds a lot . They have a sister hotel named Simsbury Inn about 5 minutes away on same road, where you can use the gym/ and awesome in-ground swimming and in-ground Jacuzzi from early morning up until 10 PM. I had a very enjoyable time and was highly impressed not only with the town of Simsbury but also with Hotel 1820.

Summary: We have stayed here several times over the last few years. We were always traveling by bicycle so we appreciate the restaurant choices nearby. The staff were very helpful with our bikes and allowing us to put them inside in Inn. The room was lovely with really nice touches. We received free water bottles and there is a refrigerator. Coffee and tea are always available in the breakfast room. I loved the comfy chairs in the room and the extra sink. The note pad and pen were a nice touch. Breakfast was much improved from the last time we stayed there. Many more options including fruit and yogurt, cold cereal, microwaveable breakfast sandwiches, and a nice selection of muffins, bagels, and breads. Note that if you have trouble climbing stairs, you need to request the first floor as there is no elevator.
