Positive: The hosts were very hospitable, friendly, and welcoming - it truly felt like home. The scenery, nature, and fresh air were absolutely fabulous. The homemade food and compote were delicious, and Shamil was a wonderful, friendly guide who showed us around. Although the bathrooms and kitchen are shared, it didn’t bother us since we stayed only one night. I would definitely love to come back and see this beautiful place in every season!

Negative: There is hardly anything to be mentioned.

Positive: Despite remote location of village, The house is well equipped. The host lives on ground floor and guests stay on first floor. Host is very nice and helpful. The Sim village is beautiful and house the balcony has very nice view of the village. The village is located near Hirkan National Park, and you can hike to Sim Waterfall and Balliqaya Cliffs relatively easily.There are other remote places as well for which you will need to hire guide.

Positive: One of the most beautiful locations in Azerbaijan. The owner is incredibly friendly, and the guesthouse is beautiful and authentic. Definitely go on a hike with the owner in the area!

Positive: We spent 1 night at Sim Guesthouse and we had a fantastic experience. Our hosts were very friendly and hospitable. Shamil took us on a hike to a local waterfall and hilltop viewpoint which was superb. We had an evening meal here for an additional cost and the food was delicious and plentiful. The room and bathroom, which are shared, were spotless. We used Bolt to get to the guesthouse from Lankaran, the road to Sim village is fully asphalted up to 2km from the village.

Negative: There was nothing to dislike about our experience. We would not hesitate to return and wholly recommend to others.

Positive: We stayed for one night in this beautiful guesthouse in Sym village, Astara region, and everything exceeded our expectations. The hosts, Shamil and Rasul (who are brothers), were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Rasul’s family was also very hospitable, making us feel at home from the very beginning. The room was clean, fresh, and comfortable. There was also a balcony with a stunning view where you can enjoy your meals, tea, or simply relax and admire the nature around you. The bathroom and toilet were spotless and well-maintained. One of the highlights was the food – you can order homemade meals 1-2 hours in advance, and they will prepare them for you. The dishes were delicious, organic, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. Shamil took us around Sym and showed us many amazing places. He was like a local guide, full of knowledge, incredibly friendly, and down-to-earth. I don’t think you could find a better guide in the area. If you are planning to visit Sym, don’t hesitate to stay at Shamil and Rasul’s guesthouse. Everything was perfect, and we truly had a wonderful time. Highly recommended!
