Positive: The room was clean, spacious and we loved our deck. Bed was comfortable, temperature could be changed as needed. We loved looking at the lake and the second night we heard wolves howling. Not coyotes. We ate 2 dinners at the restaurant. The menu is small so they can do an excellent job on everything. We had wings and the walleye sandwich the first night and the walleye again and the bacon burger the next night. The walleye was so good I wanted another one the next night. My husband got the wings and first night and loved them, then the burger, which was also excellent. The bartender took great care of us and mixed excellent drinks.

Summary: The lodge is tidy, has excellent views and is well maintained, with supper alternatives to town.

Negative: No parking near our room. Steps down to room were not safe and no lighting at night to even see what room number you were at. Motion lights were not working. Queen size bed frames with double bed mattresses. Whole place needs repairs. Toilet plugged so we could no longer use it and no one in the office to help you.

Summary: I think I would look elsewhere. For the price I paid, the accommodations could be much nicer.

Positive: Great location. Good value.

Negative: While I am ok with the fact that there was obvious signs of the place needing some maintenance, the suite we had was very musty. The air conditioner did not work. That was tough for us as we had been camping for days and one of the reasons I booked was to have that amenity. While the weather was relatively mild, it would have been nice to have had a working unit. When I spoke to the staff they were very indifferent to the fact it didn't work, and offered no accommodations to help such as a different room or to fix it. Based on the smell of the place, it had not been working for some time. Even a slight discount or apology would have been nice.
