Positive: Beautiful setting, a lovely home away from home, the garden and fresh air is beautiful. Andrew and Penny are such wonderful people and made me feel very welcome, they couldn’t do enough for me and made sure I was comfortable at all times. Very friendly pets and delicious breakfast.

Positive: There are Air BnB's, and then there is Shurinji, where you are welcomed with warmth and your every need is Andrew and Penny's wish to secure for you. Your fur babies are invited to share your holiday with you, in their home, and treated as one of their own. A tour of the beautiful garden - no problem. This is the same garden you enjoy views of from your bedroom. A peaceful oasis teeming with roses, native trees, doves, a duck pond, and green rolling hills in the background. Breakfast is a three course affair with food from the property. Starting with homemade Pomegranate Kumbucha, freshly cut grapefruit (which is truly delicious), followed by free-range eggs - anyway you like them - and never served without either spinach, mushrooms, salmon or bacon. Nothing is too much trouble. Andrew's local knowledge of history and places to visit seemed limitless. We appreciated all his suggestions of things to see and do in Whanganui (a place we had never visited before). Too tired to go out for dinner? Andrew checked in with us each night and invited us to join them for dinner, or at least a glass of wine. We felt spoilt, nurtured, and wonderfully relaxed after our stay. Of course, we would recommend Shurinji. Of course, we will find lots of other reasons to visit and stay again. Of course, we highly recommend you discover how wonderful Shurinji is for yourself. Positive: Andrew and Penny’s property was exactly what we needed for our trip to attend a music competition Whanganui. Private room and comfortable bed, an amazing breakfast. We enjoyed hearing their stories and were very comfortable and really appreciated that we could bring our dogs. There is a beautiful garden and stunning view.

Negative: There is a separate door to the bedroom from the outside, however the main entrance is from the inside. There’s no problem but I just misunderstood when I read and I thought there was an entirely separate entrance.

Positive: We loved our stay at Shurinji. Our homesty hosts Penny and Andrew were wonderfully warm and welcoming. We left feeling we had made new friends and would like to visit again in spring when the garden is in bloom. A very comfy bed and a generous breakfast set us up well for a great day. The dogs deserve a special mention. They were delightfully chill and friendly and seemed to enjoy having our dog visiting with them.

Positive: The owner couple was absolutely lovely. I stayed with my son and a rescued dog who can't socialise with other dogs however they understood exactly where my dog's behaviours came from and helped our stay to be great. I really appreciate it.
