Summary: A mixed bag. The hotel really caters for large groups, (golfers, conferences, weddings etc) so as a couple we felt ignored. Our room was not refreshed, our TV didn't work and it took 2 out of our 3 evenings there for it to be sorted, we seemed to have a party outside our room until 3am. It is a shame because the spa( extra payment) is lovely and the position of the hotel couldn't be better but not for a couple seeking a weekend away in a country house hotel.

Summary: The rooms were outdated, corridors were untidy. We was walking up the stairs and there was bed sheets just thrown on the floor. The restaurant was nice.

Summary: Good comfortable room, lots of tea, coffe, nice bar and lovely grounds. Probably would gave rated higher but noisy event on and was awakened by noisy people in the early hours (not hotels fault). Disadvantage is the place is like a rabbit warren and you'll need your hiking boots as rooms are far from reception.

Summary: First room had lots of flies in around 30 flying around close to the ceiling so we asked to be moved - this was no problem for the staff to do and they moved us upon our request. This room also had a large generator/vent or something outside the window so was really noisy especially when trying to wind down as it was on 24/7. The second room we moved to was next door to the other one, the bed was significantly smaller than the first room we had and also had another noisy generator/vent outside the window which disturbed us most of the night (light sleeper) air con was very confusing to try and work or didn’t work as was blowing warm air so was uncomfortably hot in this room too. The room itself was clean along with the rest of the hotel looking clean and surrounding areas of the hotel are beautiful. Rooms are very dated too could definitely do with a modernisation!
