Positive: Lovely family run ryokan. Onsen was fantastic. Breakfast included was substantial and delicious. Fluffy quilts on our futons kept us toasty warm and comfortable at night even in the coldest weather. Handy to bus stop for the shuttle up to the ski area.

Positive: One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The room was traditional but comfortable, the shared onsen exceeds all expectations, the breakfast each morning was a true highlight of the stay and definitely get the dinner at least one night while you're there. The staff go above and beyond to help out, they can help organise lift passes (at a discount too!) and they even drove us down to Iiyama station when we couldn't get a taxi or a bus in a blizzard. Virtually impossible to fault.

Negative: The area can be a bit hard to walk in when the snow covers everything, but that's ski towns in winter.

Positive: Okamisan (owner) is so lovely and we enjoyed her home made dinner and breakfast. We’d like to come back to this Ryokan. Bus stop to Nozawa ski area is next to it, so it was convenient, too.
