Positive: Highly recommend the buffet dinner - it comes with a main, which was sea bass and steak sirloin when we were there march 2025. Although a bit pricier than normal hotel buffets, it definitely exceeded our expectations. The ambience surrounding the full glass dining room was amazing which added to the whole experience. The staff were also very friendly and helpful at the dinner at Shiga Prince Hotel East.

Summary: Will definitely stay again at Shiga Hotel - can't beat the close view of the slopes from the room.

Positive: This was our third visit to this property. Fantastic ski in ski out location. Staff very helpful, and more and more speak English. High standard of room amenities available to select in the foyer - body lotion, face masks etc. First time staying on a lower floor not in “comfort room 5F” and it was totally fine. Great views from the picture window out over the snow. Excellent to be able to do some laundry - washers free, driers very reasonably priced. BYO detergent.

Negative: It was very expensive here this year - more than double what we paid on both previous visits, and we even chose a lower standard of room this time. The very limited and expensive meal options here - over AUD90 per person for dinner. Very expensive ski waxing here - no option for the $10 quick wax which is all you really need. Despite the hotel giving us a room that should have been quiet, it was not quiet because of very inconsiderate loud neighbours holding a party, people yelling drunkenly in the corridors and unruly children running up and down the corridors. We mentioned this to hotel and they did their best to get other guests to be responsible, but it certainly wasn’t like it used to be. I mention this every single time - they need to get a coffee barista running in the cavernous foyer.

Positive: Staff was friendly great ski resort rooms a little small but everything was good

Negative: More things to do at nighttime restaurant closes early and tv in the room didn’t have an English Channel but otherwise everything was great food choices was excellent and Delicious.
