Really, there are no stores, no restaurants, no cars, no kidding.
Little Gasparilla Island is a beautiful bridgeless barrier island only accessible by boat. The island has 7 miles of uncrowded 'Old Florida Beaches'. You truly feel like you are on a private island.
The sunsets! Little Gasparilla Island has the most amazing sunsets. No two are alike. The colors in the afterglow can be spectacular. You will be sure to go home with plenty of magnificent sunset photos. She Sells Seashells offers the opportunity to view the sunsets right from the lanai.
The island offers some of the best fishing. You can fish from the dock or the beach. There are many options for boat rentals and fishing guides. For an adventurous experience you can even try fishing for goliath grouper which can get up to 700 pounds.
There are several options for kayak and stand up paddle board rentals. You may want to try a guided kayak tour through the mangrove tunnels or rent a clear bottom kayak to explore. If you would like to try, there are fishing kayaks available to rent.
The shelling is incredible. You can find a multitude of beautiful shells including sharks teeth and sand dollars. Wildlife is all around you. There are dolphins, manatee, gopher turtles, sea turtles, blue heron, pelicans as well as many other bird species. During sea turtle season you might be able to catch a baby sea turtle release.
She Sells Seashells is a gulf view "beachfully" decorated 2 bedroom 2 bath townhouse. The maximum occupancy is 4 people.
Our home has a King bed downstairs in the master bedroom and 2 queens in the second loft bedroom upstairs.
There are golf cart rentals if you would like to explore the island further. Beach chairs, beach toys, beach umbrella and a handy beach cart are all provided for your stay.
The lower level covered deck is the perfect spot to relax. There are several added amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. There is plenty of comfortable seating, dining table and chairs, hammock, shell wash, stand up cooler, ceiling fans, bug light, beautiful outdoor lighting, fold down bar and a charcoal grill. An outdoor shower is downstairs, which is so refreshing after a day at the beach.
The ferry is free for guests and runs every 1-2-3 hours depending on the day of the week. There is free gated parking on the mainland. Also included is the use of the heated community pool. You can even bring your own boat (21.5 feet maximum) and dock it right at the community dock. There are 33 dock slips on a first come first serve basis. If you choose, you can use the community grill and smoker.
A short drive from the mainland there are several restaurants and grocery stores to choose from.

Summary: We had a really nice time at Little Gasparilla Island. Christine’s place was very nice, clean & up to date. The beach was absolutely beautiful! We were a bit surprised of the condition of the community itself…due to hurricane damage from three years ago. I think a golf cart probably should have been provided by the owner just for getting around the community itself. We did way more walking than we thought we would have to do. It is quite a long walk from the ferry boat to the condo & a bit of a walk from the condo to the beach. If you don’t mind walking a lot, again…the condo was very nice & the beach was gorgeous and not crowded at all. I would highly recommend not paying 600 to rent a golf cart for the week from one of the golf cart rental places. One of the owners at this community told us that you won’t be able to even explore the island in a golf cart because of all the damage on the island. Make sure you have everything you need once you get on the ferry boat to go over to the island because there are no stores on the island. Overall, it was a new experience staying on an island, bit we did enjoy it. Thank you Christine for allowing us to rent your beautiful condo.

Summary: Overall this was an amazing stay! My husband, 3 kids (8,10,12) and myself had such a wonderful time. This is clearly a community still in recovery after the hurricanes. The place however was just as pictured. The shuttle process went well to get to the island and the captains were all so friendly. The Hideaway property is still under quite a bit of construction but our specific place was finished. It was clean and everything was perfectly described in the listing. The beds were very comfortable (I am super picky) and the location was unbeatable. The ocean was so beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for better weather or shelling! Christine had everything we would need for the beach from chairs to boogie boards and sand toys. She was also an excellent communicator. The kids all had a blast. We definitely want to come back again! However I will pack less clothes and more sunscreen;) Also get the pizza delivery! It was such a treat! Thank you for everything!

Summary: We appreciated the screened lanai and the bonus space with hammock and chairs under the condo. (The variety of spaces was helpful with combining work, kids, vacation.) The pool was wonderfully warm, and finding numerous shark teeth on the beach a treat. Christine relayed helpful answers to questions including information on mainland grocery and kayak rental. Ferry/skiff captains were friendly as well.

Summary: We enjoyed this super cute beach house! There are plenty of supplies for the beach and the house is clean and spacious. Christine is fast to answer any questions. Pack light and enjoyed some pizza from One-Eyed Willie’s!

Summary: As described, minutes to the beach. Beautiful sunset each night Owner exceeded our expectations when we let her now a beach chair was torn. We told her not a big deal, we were making it work. By the time we returned from beach, 2 new chairs had been delivered Everyone we met was friendly and helpful Definitely returning to the island

Summary: I cannot emphasize how great this place was. The unit was great and had all the essentials for vacation. Beach toys, cart, coolers and umbrellas. Kitchen was fully equipped with all utensils, pots and pans. The Weber kettle grill was also great to use. The unit was spacious for everyone and bright and had a great beachy feel. The main bedroom had plenty of room and the bed was super comfortable. Charging plugs were along the bedside as well. Kids never complained about the upstairs beds while there but said they were hard on the way home. Golf cart provided was great to use around the property to get around. The outside downstairs area was a great spot to hangout at night and had plenty of seating. Took advantage of the boat docks as well and rented a boat for a few days. Owner is very responsive to messages and checked in on us to make sure everything was good. Can’t wait to stay here again.
