Positive: Stay with welcoming and friendly family well off the beaten track. Our host arranged a safari in Chitwan for the day and we saw rhinos, elephants and many other wild animals and saw parts of Chitwan far away from the main tourist area. It wasn't very clear how to get there ... but it wasn't that hard. We left the Tourist bus at the first stop in Bharatpur (not the main stop - just ask the conductor for advice) and walked a short distance to the main bus terminal. After asking around a couple of times, we found the local bus to Madi and let the conductor know where we were staying. Then just sat until we were dropped off right outside the Guesthouse. The alternative option (and the one we wished we had taken) was to take a taxi/tuk-tuk to the Guesthouse - there is plenty of choice. This would be far quicker (the bus took 2+hours and the tuk-tuk would have been just over an hour).

Negative: The bed was very hard and there is not a lot to do if you are not going on a safari.

Positive: If you want to experience local, rural Nepal then this place is perfect! The family you stay with are all amazing, and make the experience even more memorable! The wife cooks the best traditional Nepal food too! Mr Rama has a jeep and took us on a jungle safari and to a waterfall as well! Mr Rama is the kindest man and also provided me with lots of information on their religion and traditions! I was a solo female traveller and I highly recommend this place!

Positive: This guest house is way out off the tourist route, it’s is as described a ‘rustic guesthouse’ the family who run it are lovely people who truly care about their product and showing you their wonderful country. Nothing is too much trouble for them they make you feel so welcome with lots of tea, cold water and great food. The jungle safari was heaps of fun, 8 hours to be precise, great value for money with many animals spotted.
