In peace, all the year, very nice home any comfort on big open ground of 1000 m ² giving a clear view on the surrounding countryside.
At 900m altitude Fohet (common AYDAT 63970) is an authentic Auvergnat village in the heart of the production area of the famous cheese Saint-Nectaire south of the chain of Puys (World Heritage of UNESCO in July 2018) .

Located 4 kms from the AYDAT lake, 65 hectares, the largest natural lake in Auvergne, a tourist center and renowned outdoor resort, a whole range of activities is offered in all seasons.

It consists of a large living / dining room with fully equipped kitchen.

To the south and west a large terrace with garden furniture, relax chairs and barbecue.

Summary: My husband & I stayed at this lovely house from September 29-October 6. The owner was in Italy, so her granddaughter met us and took us through the house and explained how everything worked. The house is immaculate with plenty of living space. We could use the washing machine and hang our clothes on the outside line, which helped tremendously since we flew over with one suitcase each. We were only a very short drive to Aydat for restaurants and a beautiful lake which has a circular walkway which took us 2 1/2 hours to complete this very easy walk. We visited the market in Besse-et Saint-Anastaise, which is a beautiful medieval town. Lots of vendors with all kinds of fresh produce, cheeses, wine, etc. We came back home with our shopping bags full. The next day we drove to Puy-de-Dome, a 6,000 ft. high dormant volcano, where we took a train to the top. Once at the top you can walk around on the numerous pathways. The view from the top is spectacular, especially on a beautiful day like the one we had. There is a pathway up and down if anyone wants to walk instead of taking the train.. Next day off to Chateau de Murol, a huge medieval castle, which is worth seeing. All in all it was a week well spent in this lovely area.
