The 2 gites of la Lucaziere are located one and a half hours south of the ferry port of Ouistreham and 35 minutes from Le Mans. It is set in its own grounds, along with Grooms cottage, which form part of a 400 acre organic estate with it's chateau, meadows and extensive woodland. The owners of the gite live in the chateau, far enough away to allow you privacy but on hand if required.
The local village of Mont saint Jean is less than 1 km away and has a bar and a small shop as well as a boulangerie. The local area offers many attractions. The lake and beach of Sille le Guillaume is just 5 km from la Lucaziere, there you can enjoy sailing, ,pedalos, pleasure bikes or simply relax at one of the bars with a glass of wine! Nearby, the picturesque village of St Leonard du Bois offers kayaking and superb hiking and cycling routes as well as some lovely restaurants. There are many other beautiful villages in the area to be explored. But if it is peace and tranquillity that you require why not just laze around the heated pool at la Lucaziere, located in the gite gardens.
The spacious gite has 4 bedrooms sleeping 7. On the ground floor there is a well equipped kitchen and dining area, this opens into the sitting room where you can relax and enjoy your favourite uk television channels! A double bedded ground floor bedroom with its own shower, is ideal for guests with limited mobility. A ground floor wc is to be found in the entrance hall.
On the first floor is a twin bedded room, a large family bathroom and separate wc. The second floor has a further double bedroom and a spacious single bedroom.
Outside is a private patio area with garden furniture and barbeque. The garden of the gite opens onto the private woodland of La Lucaziere in which you may be lucky enough to spot the wild deer that live in the grounds of the chateau.
The pool area is fenced for the security of young children. Unlimited fibre optic internet is connected to the Gite.

Summary: We are just back from a lovely relaxing break in this beautiful, peaceful area. We didn't need to go far as the pool area was perfect for us and the 4 kids. Anita and Richard were very helpful hosts. Just note that the village bakery is closed on Wednesdays, but it was still a lovely morning walk! Also if you are going to the nearby lake, most activities opened from 2pm.

Summary: This is our second time to visit. Anita and Richard are truthfully so kind and accomodating and have two gorgeous dogs. The gites are on the grounds of a Chateau which is breathtaking and so peaceful. You will need a car. The gites are beautifully charming, with such lovely decor and all amenities you could need. We have 3 children and everything I need is there to cook. Bedding and towels are provided which is a huge bonus. The gites also have boardgames, books to read. Small touches that really help with the stay. The gites have access to a fantastic pool that is in such a suntrap we enjoyed many days relaxing whilst the kids wore themselves out. There is a pingpong table and outdoor games to play as a family. A few miles away from the Chateau is a manmade lake and beach which is beautiful to visit. It has a trainride, you can hire bikes. Pony rides, water sports and there is couple of restaurants that we had lunch at whilst there. Well worth a visit. We loved it here and had a truly lovely relaxing week where we spent valuable time with the children. We would highly recommend a visit.

Summary: We were 7 adults on a singing trip and enjoyed our stay. We were warned that the gîte may be cold in May but the owner was happy for us to bring our own heaters, which we needed. Everything was as seen in the photos- bedding all tasteful and the kitchen was well-equipped. Lovely showers - one of the two available is en-suite. The setting is lovely. We also enjoyed playing pétanque.

Summary: Located in the grounds of a beautiful Chateau, the gite was divided into two accommodations. We were given the side of the gite furthest from the chateau. The gite is in a secluded area, nicely furnished and full of character with plenty of space over 3 floors. The downstairs bedroom with shower was perfect for my elderly mother. BBQ and fuel were included and the location allowed deer to wander past your window! Plenty of grounds and woodlands to explore. Anita and Richard were brilliant and friendly hosts. They were most helpful if we required anything or needed information about the local area. Kids loved the pool days that we had. 5 mins drive away there is Sille Plage, an inland lake with its own beach. Great place to spend the day with other water based activities available. A supermarket also within 10 mins in case you need to stock up! For a day out, we took a 2 hour drive to Bioparc Zoo. One of the best zoos we have ever visited! Would highly recommend a stay here.
