Positive: Gorgeous cottage, love the feel of it. Very comfortable. Loved all of the DVD selection!, watched a few! We visited in November for the bonfire so it was wet and windy! Was nice to watch a few good films in the evening! Beds were comfy, great to have a separate toilet to the bathroom too!

Negative: Only allowed 5 adults but there’s two single beds upstairs. Wanted to bring my little sister along but host said no as couldn’t accommodate her. ( even tho there’s an extra bed ) my 30 year old sister slept in one so my 17 year old sister definitely could have ! I know it’s listed as 5bed but was just a bit of a let down knowing she could have come.

Summary: Fabulous cottage, great stay. Would definitely come back.

Positive: Location was great, cottage was very comfortable including beds, a powerful hot shower and good heating in each room. Beutiful nature reserve nearby with lovely shop and cafe.

Negative: There were no mirrors in the 3 bedrooms, not ideal when everyone is getting ready for a party! We couldnt find any instructions for TV/Cooker.

Summary: A lovely weekend had by all.

Positive: Location. Walking access to nature reserve, and easy drive to Rye and surrounding area. Cleanliness. Plenty of hot water and heating if required. Good shower. Property was very thoughtfully appointed including provision of milk etc and sparkling wine (THANK YOU) on arrival.

Negative: Difficult to read sign on house. We had trouble finding it as we were looking for ‘seaside retreat’ not ‘the bungalow’. We finally located the property by looking at the photograph on the website. Access road was diabolical due to huge deep pools of water which were very off putting on arrival. Lack of mirrors in bedrooms and small toilet. Couldn’t work out tumble dryer even after extensively consulting manual. Another comfortable chair in sitting room. The house is advertised for 6 people after all. There were 4 of us so we took it in turns to sit on the uncomfy small chair!

Summary: Excellent few days in a lovely cottage, only slightly marred by a difficult arrival and entry.

Positive: Lovely cottage, nice garden. Well-appointed with all that you need. The location is at the end of a lane and very quiet. The neighbours were very pleasant. The location was perfect for the beach and nature reserve, just a little walk. We return to Rye Harbour most years for its quiet and tranquil setting, somewhere you can really relax. With a good gastro pub and cafe.
