Positive: The cottage was lovely, with beautiful views from the windows and cows and sheep as our neighbours :) It’s a typical countryside cottage, cosy, charming, and well furnished. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place.
Negative: The main downside is that the windows of both main bedrooms face a somewhat busy road, so there is some traffic noise. A longer shower curtain would also be a definite improvement.
Summary: Charming Cottage with beautiful views

We loved it. The hosts and farmer around helped and were so friendly. We had the most perfect vacation there. Thank you so much.

Positive: The privacy of the cottage and quiet area around the property made it perfect for cozy nights in. The full kitchen allowed us to cook most of our meals whenever we weren't touring around the nearby coastal towns. The washing machine worked perfectly, and picking up detergent was no problem. Seeing the sheep just next door was also special.
Negative: It could have had just a couple more battery-powered lights or candles as emergency backups in the event of a winter storm. The kitchen fridge was also smaller than expected (about the size of a hotel room fridge) which made us be strategic when meal planning.
Summary: A cozy Christmas cottage

Positive: Beautiful place! An old (and charming) but comfortable cottage with everything you need. The location is superb: very central in Mayo: close to Castlebar (for groceries), Newport, Westport, Croagh Patrick and a lot more tourist destinations, but also in a rural setting, in nature (with a few neighbours, so also not too isolated). The kids loved the cows, the tractor, chatting to the farmer and walking in the garden, and also the books and toys in the house.
Negative: Shower could be stronger and the bathroom got very wet after showering. It is a little bit of driving to town.
