A modern two bedroom waterfront apartment (15 metres from the sea) occupying the entire top floor of our villa.
With its own private entrance, it has a huge veranda with spectacular views of the Messinian Bay and Taygetos mountains. Perfect for al fresco dining and relaxing to the sound of the waves of the sea. Enjoy wonderful sea views from each room.
The apartment is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and is suitable for couples and for families with children 6 years or older. It is accessed through an external staircase at the back of the villa, where secure parking is also located. It has a modern kitchen, large closets, a 40 inch tv, and air conditioning in each bedroom.
The sea at the front of the house has rocks, but you can swim at one of two small beaches about 100 meters from the apartment and there are plenty of other beaches only a few minutes drive away.
The property is located at the edge of the village, only a 7 minute walk from Petalidi square. There you will find restaurants, tavernas, 2 super markets, bakeries, a pharmacy, a post office, two ATM machines, and a fish market with fresh fish sold directly by the fishermen.
The apartment is perfectly located for sightseeing in our region. It is only 20 minutes (16 km) from Kalamata airport and half an hour's drive to Kalamata's bustling city life (25 km). Koroni (25 km) is also half an hour away, Pylos (35 km) is a 40 minute drive, while Methoni and Finikounda are 45 minutes away.
Petalidi is also ideally located to visit several important archaeological sites. The amazing archeological site of Ancient Messini is a 45 minute drive, Nestor's Palace is a 50 minuters drive, while Ancient Olympia, Mystras Archaeological site and the Archaeological site of Mycanae are all about 1.5 hours away. Moreover, right in Petalidi you can observe archeologists at work digging up the remains of Ancient Koroni.
And if you prefer nature, Polylimnio waterfalls is a short 15 minutes drive from the apartment, while Voidokilia Beach (one of the most beautiful in Greece) is a 45 minute drive.
There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy locally, especially during the summer months. You can go swimming, diving, fishing, boating and enjoy other water sports like kayaking. Rent a bike, go hill walking (trekking), horse back riding (5 minutes from Petalidi) or play golf (50 minutes away at Costa Navarino golf course).
As for nighttime entertainment, you can choose from beach bars and tavernas, or you could attend a local village festival ("paniyiri" in Greek) which takes place during the summer months. If you enjoy classical music or jazz you can attend one of the concerts offered by the Koroni Music Festival, which runs from May to October, and if you like modern ballet then you should not miss the Kalamata International Ballet Festival which takes place each July.

Summary: We have just spent a delightfully relaxing week in Rosemarie and Vassilis's apartment. The apartment is scrupulously clean, bright and airy and in a wonderful location with all day sunshine and fabulous views. Rosemarie has put a lot of thought and effort into presenting the apartment at its best. She is a very generous host who wants her guests to really enjoy themselves. She has a great supply of guide books and handwritten notes available on places to visit and things to do, and restaurants to frequent. Thank you Rose and Vassilis

Summary: If you look for a spacious, comfortable waterfront apartment that is equipped with taste and everything you need, has a large terrace with a spectacular view, has easy access to beaches and some restaurants, and serves as starting point for excursions into the history of the Peloponnese or to more beaches, there is no better place.. The host is very charming and can give you lots of recommendations for places to visit.

Summary: The apartment has spectacular views, you can even watch the sunrise from the bed. Rosemary and Vassilis where the most wonderful hosts and made us feel extremely welcome. They provided us with so much useful information about the whole area and showed us around Petalidi town and the neighboring secret beaches. They also provided us with everything we needed for our five month old baby. We came as guests and left as part of the family.

Summary: The apartment is nailed onto the waterfront; is light and airy with doors to the wide wrap around balcony from the two bedrooms and the living area . Direct sun from dawn to dusk if you want it. Stunning views across the water to the mountains and down the coast - which are particularly satisfying while dining al fresco in the evening Multi-lingual owners Vassilios and Rosemary are charming and kind. Unexpected and welcome gifts on arrival included chilled drinks (including homemade wine) and later in the week a full plate of freshly cooked stuffers peppers and tomatoes The town is a short stroll away. It is laid back and has a little bit of everything. On our last night the town square was packed for traditional dancing The first taverna on the water from the apartment (just past the harbour but which doesn't have a name) is great. Your selected fish will be cooked according to the proprietor's recommendations. Inexpensive. Great value. This was our first visit to the Peloponnese and it won't be our last Highly recommended
