The Old Police house is situated in the historic valley of Strathnairn 5 miles from Inverness. A fantastic location for visiting The Highlands and The Cairngorm National Park.
The cottage is Family, wheelchair and dog friendly Holiday Cottage to make your stay relaxing and fun. 3 good sized bedrooms all with built in wardrobes 3 Spacious Bathrooms including a walk in wet room. The house has full oil central heating.
Well Behaved dogs are permitted (please enquire) bedding, bowls, towels and a first aid kit are provided please read the rules for dogs.
Highchair and travel cot are available safety gates are standard.
Ground floor
Cosy spacious lounge with wood burning stove and dining for 6 in the bay window with stunning views and wildlife. There are patio doors out to the garden.
The Ground floor also has a Spacious bedroom which can be either a twin or super king size bed, Built in wardrobes with storage, Hairdryer
Good sized shower room with heated towel rail, WC and sink
Kitchen with microwave, single oven, hob, fridge freezer with table and seating for 6 with well stocked cupboards and essentials such as dishwashing tablets, washing liquid, condiments etc.
Spacious Utility room with clothes pulley, Washing machine and tumble dryer. Also a walk in wet room/drying room. Washing liquid is supplied

Covered gazebo to the rear of the house with seating for 6. This is a cosy suntrap in the summer and perfect for having breakfast or an evening BBQ
Dining area to the front of the house with seating for 6. This has stunning sunny views North to the historic Daviot Church and South through the valley, fields and hills. Perfect and relaxing for watching the sun set over the hill with deer in the fields and Buzzards and Red Kites soaring above also a wood burning chimera.
Fenced garden lowest point being 1.4m Driveway gates.

The Cairngorm National Park is 15 minutes away with skiing, walking and watersports.
Inverness airport is only 12 miles, Inverness is 10 minutes where you will find the main rail links, a car is essential, Loch Ness is 12 miles.
Excellent for Skiing, golfing, fishing, walking, cycling, photography, beaches, Historic place, woodlands, horse riding, Archery, quads etc...lots to do, lots to see in every season.

Rules for dogs....Up to 2 dogs allowed please enquire for details
Dogs must not be left in the cottage on their own, I have dog crates available.
Dogs must be dried off before entering the cottage, There is a wet room off the utility room at the back door Towels etc are provided.
All dog mess must be picked up from the garden and surrounding areas.

Summary: Susan, our host, has given a lot of thought about comfort for her guests. She is amazing, and helped us after we were in a car accident. The home is tastefully appointed and in a serene location near Inverness. I would highly recommend staying here. I particularly liked the first floor walk-in shower, and having a working washer and dryer was very nice.helpful.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at this charming Scottish home! The house was beautifully quaint with plenty of character, yet offered all the modern comforts we needed. There was tons of space for our group to spread out, and having multiple bathrooms was a total game-changer—no waiting around in the mornings! Everything was clean, cozy, and well-stocked, and the peaceful surroundings made it feel like a true getaway. Such a great location too! So close to Inverness, the airport, and quick access to lots of great sites.Highly recommend for families or groups looking for a relaxing and spacious stay in Scotland!

Summary: This is an absolutely lovely cottage with everything you could possibly need to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The beds are very comfortable and the house is so cosy. Susan is a fantastic host and was so helpful. She provided a dog crate which we were incredibly grateful for as it saved a lot of space in the car. The location is great as it’s incredibly peaceful with lovely views but a large Tesco (along with lots of restaurants and bowling etc) are less than 15 minutes away. I would highly recommend staying in this house.

Summary: Excellent find for our family. It was clean, and very comfortable. Showers were powerful, beds were very comfortable. Susan was so helpful salting the driveway as it had snowed over night- very magical. Would highly recommend this place and hope to return again.

Summary: The house was a perfect home-away-from home for our family of 6 adults! Everything we needed was provided, and made it easy for us to have meals at the house once we acquired some groceries from Aldi. The beds were super comfortable and the showers were perfect! Susan was a great help-stopping by one time to introduce herself, and even coming out to shovel the driveway on the morning it snowed! There were tons of historical sites within a short drive. And breakfast at the North Gateway Restaurant is an absolute must!

Summary: Just about everything was as expected with our stay. The house itself had everything we needed, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bedrooms were configured by Susan for the three adult couples in our group. Beds were comfortable. The kitchen was complete with utensils, pots and pans, and a coffee maker. The living room has plenty of comfortable seating and a big TV. Plenty of outdoor seating. The distance to Inverness was perfect for us (about 13 minutes by car). The house was in a very quiet area, and we could easily get to the city to visit shops and restaurants. Susan was very responsive to our needs. We would definitely stay again for a future trip.
